When replacing existing drain plug, you'll find that others are the standard 2", which does not correspond with many 'older' or other boat drain plug sizes. This one is slightly larger and matched up to the screw holes.

My boats original plug was slightly larger that what I’d sold. This one is a match.

I liked that it fit perfectly however it would be better if it included the #8 brass screws.

This should come with the proper bronze screws. It comes with no mounting hardware at all, placing the burden of finding non-corrosive screws that fit on you. Overpriced and long shipping times.

attwood has changed their packaging since the sellers packaging photo was taken. Nowhere on this product does anything say BRONZE. The packaging does however say "Cast BRASS, 1/2" NPT plug". I looked up 7555-3 in the attwood catalog and it does say Bronze. So they are still calling this Bronze but the plug and the drain are both the same tone and not nearly as dark as the silicon bronze #8 screws I bought. So I think this is likely a phosphor bronze, maybe? The whole product has been machined so I am unable to see any sand casting that would help identify what kind of bronze. They have a California lead warning on the back so that is a promising. They look a little yellow and brassy. I called attwood customer service and they assured me that the 7555 is a bronze fitting and that only the replacement plugs are brass. The plug that came with these is identical in color to the drain so either the original plugs are bronze or the drains are brass. They also recommended a stainless NPT replacement plug for salt environments. I guess good luck to us all who want a BRONZE garboard drain.

This garboard drain is 2 1/8" overall diameter. I was searching for a while to find one this size to replace a plastic on my 82 Crestliner. This was the only one I could find with the larger diameter so the mounting screw holes would line up. I am very pleased I found this item and will recommend it to anyone needing a large non-standard size plug.

I needed to replace a garboard drain plug assembly on a 80's Century boat that was more than the standard 2" and this was the one. If you need a garboard plug that is just over 2", this is the one.
