The hat fit a bit loose when it arrived. Seller had very easy and comprehensive instructions on making minor adjustments to perfect the fit. Very helpful. A little water around the brim and a short stint in the dryer and I got a perfect fit! Love the hat, will definitely get lots of use this season!

Product is exactly as described came with both field and parade insignia. Neither installed. Did need to trim the field insignia arms to make them sharp to get thru the thick wool but once all was installed was extremely comfortable. Make sure you get your hat size correct tho. Go to the store and try different sizes on if needed this is my 3rd ushanka and none have been forgiving on size. This is the first that's fit me exactly properly because I knew my exact size. Will not stretch. Outside is made of thick wool then more insulation then a thick cotton liner. Extremely comfortable ear flaps up and down. Will take a little breaking in mine took a day or 2 to get proper. Other than that genuine and comfortable. Made in the burbansk fur factory, former USSR.

It was good that it came with two separate pins to put on the hat. Neither will be used as I’m not a commie but they made good winter gear. I wear a 7 1/2 so I ordered a 60cm fits well. It’s not too tight or too lose, and is soo much nicer than the faux fur ones, with the wool it should be able to handle a little bit more rain and or sleet.

The Hat is beautiful and well made. It is 100% original you can tell from several details. It is really warm and it will look nice on anybody, men or women. I only give it three stars because the size is not right, Large is more like a medium, so be mindful of this when ordering.

Great quality product. A little itchy which is expected with the wool.

First off this hat was amazing! it was in amazing condition with the only show of wear being faded printing on the inside. I wore this hat to a klondike for boy scouts in the snow and freezing cold yet within only 20 mins of being in this hat I was sweating. This hat will keep you warm and that is no lie. Its an amazing hat and I definitely recommend. NOTICE: I guessed my size and was lucky enough to get the correct size that fits however I highly recommend finding the correct size. This hat is an amazing worthwhile investment as long as you make sure to buy the correct size.

This kept my head and ears warm during our 2018/19 Cleveland winter, even those couple days when it was -20c with the polar vortex. Genuine Soviet surplus, mine was stamped inside with, among other things, Babyansk(Belarus), 87 (made in 1987, and the stamp of approval OTK. Very well made hat, it will feel a bit scratchy at first but after a week or two of being outside in the weather it became super soft. The ties are not long enough for me to tie it under my chin, I just tuck them into my jacket, or if you have friends, they should be able to tie them for you. Overall, an awesome little piece of history that's actually useful as well.

As awesome as it is itchyFits a but snug but I expect it will wear out to an almost perfect fit after a while of use. First time seriously using it me and a friend went out shooting in the snow. While he wore his winter coat and hoodie, I wore my "Super Soviet" outfit comprising of my trench coat, this ushanka, leather/wool gloves, and scarf. Needless to say he was freezing while I almost had to take off my sweater I was so hot. Fantastic hat that keeps you warm with enough weight to remind you you're wearing it

Looks alright and is warm. The straps that you can tie the ear covers together with are flimsy however - I think trying the ear flaps is something best avoided. The soviet symbol is cheap plastic but looks fine. The blue air force color and Soviet style fish fur is apparently authentic according to my Russian friend; however the hat itself was made in like 1990, making it more Russian than Soviet, if that matters to you. It's a great prop for costumes and can actually keep your head warm in winter. This size fits the head of everyone that has tried it so I guess it's a one size fits all deal.
