I have two Siberian kitties that are fed wet food twice daily and free graze from two small bowls that I fill with around 1 cup of kibble in each about every 2 days. I try to keep the amount of kibble they eat to a minimum. LI am retired but spend time online sometimes most of the night then sleep until late morning. On these days, having missed their first wet meal, they tend to eat more of the kibble than I would like them to. This auto feeder will be helpful to control the amount of kibble they consume. Plus, being able to keep some of it stored in the enclosed container will keep what they eat fresher. I have another reason that this will be even more useful and helpful for. About a year ago I moved 4 hours away from my daughter and grandkids. They have a cat of their own and with 2 loud and active kids in the house it’s not possible to bring the kitties there when I visit them. So far I’ve brought them with me but stayed at a friend’s house. I won’t be doing that any longer and may need to leave them home. I will do my best to get someone to come in once a day to give them a wet food meal but being able to have the auto feeder set up to dispense their kibble will be a great benefit.Well, not being good at interpreting directions or being tech savvy has left me feeling a little challenged with getting this up and going! 🙄 It took me 2 days to get the Pet video camera set up after re-reading the directions multiple times. I know I just need to be patient and pick the right time to do it. I wish they provided a short how to set up video!I like the look of this unit. It has a 60” power cord! Amazing👍👍 And the power cube is included👍👍👍 Good to have battery back up and even if this isn’t a rechargeable unit, having peace of mind that it will function during a power outage is another big benefit. The plastic this is made of is fine, just be mindful when locking in the lid. This is best suited for smaller animals, not ones with voracious appetites who might, knock it over.Once I get this up and running I’ll figure out the schedule and amount of food for it to dispense. That part will probably take some time. But once I get it down pat I can update my review if I come across any notable information to pass along. For all it states it can do, how it’s made, how it looks and the reasonable price it is make this a good purchase.

Maze tested, Maze approved (look at her licking her lips :)This works great for the kitties for their dry food. I wasn't sure they would like it and Vine offered a way for me to test this out. You can set up to 6 different meal times and between 1-20 portions. This would be great for someone who is only feeding dry food and has an issue with cats eating too much at once, you could set smaller amounts several times a day to stop the over eating and possible regurgitations that come with that. It is quiet when it dispenses (for the most part) and the kittens have not been afraid of it at all (the same cannot be said of the new water fountain haha). We generally feed our two kittens three times a day, in the morning and in the evening they get wet food and then during the day sometime I feed them a small amount of dry food and treats. Since I work from home this isn't a big deal, but when I travel for work my partner has to do everything in the morning before he leaves for work and if we both go away someone would have to come over three times or again put everything down in the morning. This gives us the option to have the food come out at the expected times, and cats love being on a schedule! For two 5 month old kittens I have this setup to go off at 11am with portion set to 5 and then again at 9pm with portion set to 2 as a small snack. We feed both wet and dry so it doesn't have to be a lot.Setting the time and the meals/amounts is fairly easy - even moving from one outlet to another the system retained the information that was already set. I originally set it up in the laundry room and then once it was setup I unplugged it and moved it to the kitchen and the floor and everything was still setup. If it takes you longer than a minute to move it you will have to update the time but the meals and amounts should remain. I have not used this on battery as I had a place I could put it and have it plugged in. If I do decide to put on battery I will update with how long they last with the settings I had at the time. After seeing them eat out of this for two days I have already purchased another one, while the bowl is quite large and the kittens are very friendly with each other, they do like to have their own bowls. Once the second one comes in this week we'll be good to go.

I picked up this automatic cat feeder for our ranch cats, and it’s been working great so far. It’s made from solid, durable materials and feels like it’ll hold up well, even with regular outdoor use in the barn. One feature I really appreciate is the clear lid so you can easily see how much food is left without having to open it up every time. Bonus is that the top food lid locks keeping the cats from helping themselves. The feeder runs on either batteries, direct power, or both, which is a smart setup. If your power goes out, the batteries kick in and keep it running so the cats don’t miss a meal. That’s especially helpful out here where outages happen now and then.Setting it up took a few minutes to figure out, but the manual actually walks you through it clearly. There are multiple programming options so you can choose specific times for feeding and adjust how much food gets dispensed at each interval. Once you get the hang of it, it’s really flexible and easy to manage.Overall, it’s a well-designed, reliable feeder, and easy to clean as well. I’d definitely recommend it especially for anyone managing multiple outdoor or indoor cats allowing you to have a more hands-off, consistent feeding schedule. Great for when you go on vacation or have pets on a diet as well.
