Sometimes I forget to put out some food and this helps a lot . When she hears the beep , she's in there . And this way I can give her smaller portions several times a day . I am hoping this helps her lose weight also .

I measured out one tablespoon of my cat's food at 9g. One serving from this unit is 6g or 2/3 tablespoon. The servings are very consistent! It is adjustable from 1-9 servings per feeding, and you can set 1-4 feedings per day. Nine servings is just under 1/2 cup. With the 13-cup food hopper, my cat has over two weeks of food. The included feeding chart is accurate! I initially set for two daily feedings at nine servings per feeding or 1 cup per day. That is way more than my cat could eat. You could literately feed four cats at a time with a wide range of programming. The unit has a memory function, keeping the time and programming on schedule if the power fails. It is also nice because it can be moved to a table for more accessible programming or adjustments. The buttons lock out automatically to keep your cat from reprogramming his feeding schedule. The lid twists on, keeping the cat out of the reserves. You can do manual feeding, but it dispenses one portion at a time. It would be nice if it had another dedicated button for manual feeding and it distributed the programmed portion. The bowl tucks under the unit keeping the cat from moving it, but it is also effortless to remove for cleaning. This feeder is a well-built and good-looking item that functions as it should!

I am an owner of one cat and got this as a way to help with portion control to potentially prevent having an overweight cat, and this awesome feeder makes it so easy! It's super easy to set up and even comes with an awesome chart that helps you break up a single portion size into multiples. 9 different portion sizes that can be split into 4 meals a day if needed! It also provides clear and simple instructions that make getting everything set up a breeze. I had no problems and its a small detail that makes all the difference.After using it for a couple weeks, its been perfect. Consistent portions, large food storage in the top, and awesome battery life brought from 3 D Batteries, or can also be plugged in wherever you have an outlet. These are a few of the great things that this feeder provide and I recommend this to anyone with busy days that may make it difficult for keeping a feeding schedule! All these great characteristics packed into this auto feeder that's well below the competitors prices on that market. Do yourself and your furry children the favor, and get this for them!

Likes:Pretty well made. Good quality materials.Sturdy.Looks aesthetically good. Main body and food tray all black with a dark smoked translucent food container looks good.Works as advertised.Option to use 3 'D' batteries if you do want it plugged in to wall (for portability). I plugged it into the wall outlet.Dislikes:Not so friendly instructions.Even more unfriendly and confusing food portions serving chart.Had to perform some trial and errors to make the thing work for me and to get the serving portions right. But eventually everything worked as it should be.I don't think the efforts I had to put in to learn how to use it and get the portions right is necessarily a deal breaker if the price is right. I see a lot of competitive products at around the $30 - $40 range and some even higher. But for the quality of materials used to make this I think I will still recommend a buy.

My cat eats several small portions throughout the day. I don’t know if this is recommended for cats and I don’t care because he will meow until the end of time when he decides he’s hungry and he has never been overweight. I don’t mind the small portion sizes because as I said, he eats smaller portions throughout the day. Now he has gotten into a routine of knowing when his next meal is and he doesn’t have to meow incessantly until I stop what I’m doing to feed him. I also appreciate the small portion sizes because anytime he has leftovers, my dog will sneak over and eat them which has led to him being a bit overweight. The app is amazing and has many features and a smart home compatible though I do not have a smart home so I can’t speak to how well it works on that end. Overall it works perfectly for me and my lifestyle.

I really like this cat feeder. It allows me to schedule up to four meals per day with the possibility to deliver a different quantity of kibbles with each meal. It has a large container allowing for me to be out of town for a couple of days without having to have someone to come serve the meals to the cats.It took my cats about a day to understand what it did, and at the beginning, one of them was waiting in front of it for more food to come :) But now they are used to it.If you have cats, you know that they will wake you up from your deepest sleep if they are hungry. This cat feeder is the perfect solution for them to get their food and you to keep sleeping! It's also good to have them eat throughout the day rather than gulp everything for the day in the morning. I'm very happy with this product.

The cats seem to like it and that is no small thing. It startles me every time it dumps food though. Seems to be made well and it certainly works well.. I dont have any real complaints with it.

It takes a minute to figure out and set the settings but once it is set its nice to have it automatically dispense especially if you are not home. BUT the portions are insanely small and most definitely not best for dogs. I recommend just puppies and some cats use it because the portions are so small.
