I got this thinking it would fit on the diesel heater's exhaust pipe. That is what I have installed in my 5-window minibus tiny home on wheels renovation to be my main source of heat. The exahust pipe has to be vented to the outside, but the pipe itself gets hot and I wanted to ensure that it could not create any issues with sending it outside the bus - for the area that the pipe would touch. I know from friends who ride motorcycles that they often wrap their exhaust pipes so that if they have a rider, they won't suffer burns from those hot pipes. That's why I got this material, thinking it would work. Problem is, it's not wide enough for the pipe to fit in! I did cut it and instead of sliding the pipe in, just wrapped the opened, flat material around the pipe before sending it out the floor of the bus. I used some vent tape around the opening so that the pipe is as insulated as possible from the rest of the bus. For what this is, it worked, though I wish it had just been a bit larger to slide onto the pipe!

I was looking for a heat shield option for my Jeep. I will use this mostly to protect wiring. It's exactly as described and seems like it will work well. Built comparable to much more expensive options. Will update review if I have any problems after install but initial layout looks good.

I’ve been using the FOURUB Automotive Heat Shield Sleeve as fuel line heat shielding on my vintage motorhome, and it’s been a game-changer! So far, it seems to have completely eliminated vapor lock by keeping the fuel temperatures down and protecting the fuel lines from the intense heat coming from the exhaust. The aluminized sheathing does an excellent job of reflecting heat, I feel confident that it’s providing solid protection for my fuel lines. The material is lightweight yet durable, but it still offers excellent thermal insulation and shock absorption. What I really love is how easy it was to install—this flexible and soft heat shielding easily wraps around my fuel lines, and it’s been holding up well under the hood.Overall, this heat shield has worked wonders for protecting my motorhome's fuel lines and preventing vapor lock. If you're looking to keep temperatures down in your vehicle, I highly recommend it!

This heat shield is flexible, the wires were easy to pull through the heat shield. The heat shield was also easy to cut where needed and then zip tie up as needed. Have ran the motor a few times since installing the wiring and they haven't melted so far!

Great! Definitely fire resistant as we tested it, but it cooked what we tested so not so heat resistant. Overall, it's nice to have a little extra fire protection.

Good stuff. It seems every bit as good as the expensive name brand heat sleeve that I've used in the past. It's very good at protecting hoses and wires from radiated heat.

There are basically three types of temperature shield of this sort: spiral wrap (usually with an adhesive), velcro closed, and continuous. As is obvious this is the latter. It is more flexible, more compact, and allows for a neater appearance, but the lines or wires must be disconnected on one end in order to install it. This is not much of a problem in a new or replacement installation, but can be a hassle having to open a fuel or brake line (or even cut a wire cable) in order to slip it around the line). It also has the disadvantage of having to be cut open to make repairs or monitor its contents for damage or leakage. That said, it is by far my favorite to use to protect long wire lines, such as from the battery to the trunk, where at some points they will pass by engine and exhaust components. For example, I have a massive 00 cable running from the battery to the rear of my Jeep into a distribution box, allowing me to have one, instead of many wires running from front to rear. Such a large cable is much more easily run outside of the cab, but this subjects it to environmental conditions (mostly heat) that I wish to protect it from. This 3/4 in diameter shield has sufficient internal volume and sufficient length to make it a perfect protective sleeve for the cable. Of course it can be used in much the same way for fuel lines. Overall an excellent product than performs its task quite well if one is aware of its limitations and do not find them problematic for your installation.
