This AUTOUTLET U-Lock Chain Lock is a 7mm thick chain of iron, 100 cm long, wrapped in a black protective cloth to prevent scratching. It is reasonably heavy at 600g to carry in a backpack if needed or better still around the frame of the bike. The lock (a U shape) appears to be solid and works very well when locking and unlocking. It comes with 3 keys which is nice, as I can always have one stored somewhere for backup purposes.I like how the tip of the keys are not sharp else they could rip open pockets.Interestingly, the key can only be pulled out of the plug ( the rotating part that turns when the correct key is inserted), if and only if, the deadbolt is in the locking position.I would not use this lock on an expensive bike, in a public area, even crowded, unless I can keep a close eye on it.Nevertheless, a chain lock that I am comfortable to use on a cheaper bike, in a properly secured environment or under some kind supervision.

This is a very heavy duty lock and chain with a unique lock and key, i cant imagine you will ever have to worry about loosing your bike or belongings again. The chain cover makes handling the chain easy and comfortable. This is a very heavy all metal product so if you are concerned about carrying extra weight around, this might not be the best option. For a stationary locking location, say at home, this is a perfect solution for me.

I went down the bike lock rabbit hole before I came across this. This is not Sold Secure tested or have any claims. With that said, this is simply a cheap visual deterrent for a bike thief. If you have this lock, and someone wants your bike, they will cut through this fairly easy with a portable handheld grinder or a larger bolt cutter. This lock would (probably) be ok if you're in a decent area or can lock your bike up and still have eyes on it from a distance or inside - whatever the case may be. I would NOT use this in the city and/or be away from it for any period of time if you are worried. I would not use this on anything expensive like ebikes or your nicer bikes. I. have my doubts about the lock too. its heavy and bulky with metal, but the internal locking/latching mechanism feels cheap, and feels like it would easily be defeated. The thief will most likely attack the chain, not the lock.If you have a cheaper bike and arent too worried about it being stolen or live in a nicer area but still want it locked up, this may be alright for you. I wouldn't trust this on any bike I own tho. Ill give this 3 stars because it still has a place for a lot of people, but if you're serious about keeping your bike, you'll need to look elsewhere and at a bike lock with a Sold Secure theft rating on it.
