Works well, but it’s kinda flimsy. Had a little trouble getting the ssd to stay connected, but I got it sorted.

I purchased two Dell R520 servers and needed more disk space then the 8 already available. My servers came with a CD-ROM that I definitely didn't need so I searched for this CD-ROM to SSD caddy. When I installed them they fit in perfectly and the SSD inside the caddy was detected on first boot. Afterwards I installed True Nas on the SSD and it has been great for a week now.

Used this to add an extra storage drive to my laptop, and also got a dongle that still lets me use the optical drive externally, through USB!

I replaced my hardrive with a much smaller 128gb ssd so being able to put the 1tb harddrive back in while keeping the much faster ssd was a big help in meeting my storage needs.

Used in my Dell Optiplex 7040, to put my main SSD in the DVD-ROM bay.Easy to install.It even uses the 2 wire SATA power cable, so no need for any other adaptors.

Make sure to check the thickness of your CD Drive! It should be either 9.5mm or 12.7mm. Came with screws and screwdriver for installing. Very quick and painless. This can give your old laptop with an optical drive a good second life with a quality SATA SSD.

I replaced my laptops old drive with an SSD so I bought this caddy to put my old HDD in the DVD slot so I can still use it for storage and backup and it works great. This caddy came with the 4 screws to mount the drive and with a really cheap tiny screwdriver.

As you would expect form the price, the quality isn't great, but since you'll probably be sliding it into your laptop and forgetting about it, that's not a huge concern.I bought this to use with a Fujitsu Lifebook E751, and while it does fit, you'll need to switch the black trim on the sides of the DVD drive over to the caddy (if you don't have a DVD drive to use as a donor, you'll need to pad the sides with some strips of plastic). Also, the end piece that clips on will need to be shortened about an inch, due to it covering the relase latch. It's not a big deal, but it does mean it won't look as neat as it would in other laptops.
