First issue-the base that the metal rods sit on seemed to have the wrong distance between the holes, so the rods look bent towards the outside because the holes are too close together. I'm very handy so I'm 99.9% sure I didn't install them wrong. because of this the skeleton is compressed, not easily sitting on the rods. Secondly, the tail is unsecuredly attached by a slim piece of plastic prodruding from the base of the hips. there is no fitting by which you know the tail is in place, and you could more easily pull it off the plastic than put it on. Thirdly, there is no real joint articulation in the vertebrae-from my limited understanding-which is what they say as part of the product description. The vertebrae disks are also grey, not the green you see in the pictures-so it leads me to believe the pictures show a higher quality model. Now please, don't get me wrong, its an absolutely cool model, but I don't believe it's worth the price. I think the $100 models could compare in QUALITY, albeit smaller. The way the leg joints come together is by cheap elastic rope and weak, plastic grabbers. I had bought this to learn how the joints were supposed to move, but I can move them anyway I want to due to the cheap rope holding them together. The worst part about my experience? There were no instructions on how to assemble, and to top it all off the tail broke while I was moving it because I bumbed a light dog bed. I would be willing to take this as my fault, but again the point here is that it makes it not worth the price-had the tail had joint articulation, it would have moved with the bump. Overall, i wouldn't buy this again. Sorry to the makers because I can tell you worked hard, but you seemed to cut corners at the same time that you went big, in all the wrong things to cut corners in.

Doing Gross Anatomy online is not ideal by far. Having this dog skeleton helps immensely to put things in perspective, instead of just looking at pictures. This model is pretty accurate and in good shape. Plus I will have it for YEARS. It's a little pricey for a student, but definitely worth the investment!
