Trowel itself is nice and sturdy. The plastic cap one has to put on the end leaves much to be desired. At first it wouldn't go on, then once on wouldn't come off to straighten and cap looks like it'll bust soon. Also, once cap is on, the case, which is nice, will not close. So, my rating is 3+ but since I'm keeping it, I'll give it a 4.

This is a good basic trowel, best for a light weight backpacking/camping tool. It's not as strong as the major brands but should work for most digging needs.

I have arthritis in my hands, so gardening had become impossible. This tool is so light and the handle is just the right size so that my hands don't hurt. it is very sharp and it cuts thru the dirt very easily so I need to use less pressure. It helps when I'm trimming plants so I don't need to carry extra tools around the garden. Gardening has become a pleasure again. It's perfect for backpacking and car camping.

As a trowel, this is an excellent tool. It's lightweight, but strong. The grip is good & wide (and covered with paracord). The trowel is nicely sized. It's also shaped appropriately. The saw side is good enough for cutting small branches for firewood. Same thing with the knife side. It's sharp, but it's not going to stay that way, especially as you dig into the ground with it. However, it's enough to shave out some kindling or stuff like that. Don't count on it as a "knife" but it will be a blade. The other parts of the tool are really not that good. Still, I think they're secondary to the main purpose, a trowel for digging.

I got this trowel for hiking to replace the folding shovel that I normally carry.Pros:- Light Weight- Stainless Steel- Multi-Functional- Sharp EdgesCons:- Short Handle- Useless FeaturesWhat you get in the package:- 1 x OAKVUE Backpacking Trowel- 1 x OAKVUE Waterproof Trowel HolderThis OAKVUE Backpacking Trowel Product has a roughly 4" handle, 10 1/2" Overall Length, 2 3/4" (At the Widest Point) wide blade. The trowel weighs approximately .45lb. The carry bag is 3.9"x 10" and has a velcro closure and is waterproof to protect the trowel. What I liked about this product is that it has sharp cutting edges. As well as a nice, serrated edge. The tool works effectively as a trowel and bottle opener when you don't have one handy. The square, hollow handle has a loose wrapping of paracord around it for added comfort and use in emergency. The carry pouch is a nice touch. It can be worn on the belt or in a pack. It is waterproof and has a nice velcro closure. What I didn't care for about this product is the handle is a bit short to get any real leverage on the trowel. The trowel also has some IMO useless features like the 3 hex wrench cut outs. If I am ever in a position to need any of these in an emergency .. I will change this review. But I have had many hiking tools that carry the same setup and I have yet to have a need for any of the three hex wrench cutouts in decades. The nail puller is actually a nice touch .. however, I would be careful on how much force you put on this trowel. I realize the handle was hollow to reduce the weight but it also reduces the amount of pressure you can apply to the blade end. I found the trowel best used for cutting small branches or sharpening and fashioning hand made skewers. It does well digging holes in softer soil. The Trowel also has a loose wrapping of paracord. it is very loose and actually started to unwind during my first testing trial with this trowel. The wrap makes the handle more comfortable and without it the handle becomes quite uncomfortable in the hand. As it is not only short, but now also bare with nothing to cushion your palm and fingers or give you any grip.I was unable to locate any warranty either in the product information or item description.I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All in all, this is a decent trowel that has some useful, as well as, useless features. But it can be effective in various situations. I can see how this could be a decent addition to a pack but I will stick with my folding shovel for now. This product is made in China.
