I love this. I had one of the other styles that hangs by a magnet, but that one is very to heavy and tips over a lot. This one is very durable (I have dropped it and it didn't break), it's weighted on the bottom so it's very stable on the edge of the couch or in bed. Very smooth spin mechanism. I dont fight with it to pull yarn like the top mounted one.

I use the big 300gram balls of bernat blanket yarn for most of my projects, and as you can see they fit just fine. This little gadget has helped me not having to wrestle a ball of yarn all over the place while it unwinds. I like to pull from the outside of the ball. I don’t think it would work for pulling from the inside.

I do a lot of crochet and sometimes the yarn comes in cones. This makes working with cones very easy. Also works for skeins too.
