The Units were in good condition when they arrived. Took a little time to figure out the schematic (the one on the side of of the switch was easier to understand). If you could install a deep electrical box it would give more room for the switch and wires to fit in. Overall I would give it 5 stars due the good price and quality.

I needed this for my water heater tank. Almost all timers sold have the option for the user to turn them on, without a timer, which pretty much defeats the purpose of this. This one does not allow an ON option. It is extremely simple to use, just one button, a light tells you what time you chose to have it on, then it goes off, end of the story.

After installing two of these switches in the same outlet box, I have found that both of them are fairly warm even when the switch is in the off state. I haven't measured it, but I'd guess it's around 3 watts each. That's pretty annoying to me. In 2021, this kind of device should not draw so much idle current.I noticed that in other reviews some people complained that the switch sits back too far inside the switch plate. I ran into this as well, but it isn't difficult to shim it farther out by placing some thin plastic or thin cardboard strips between the metal frame and the drywall.Edit: 11/19/2021After having used these switches for over a month, I have downgraded my review from 3 to 2 stars. An issue I didn't notice at first is that the button is very small, and hard to find using just touch. I bought a similar switch about 15 years ago, and its button is much wider and protrudes a bit more, making it easy to locate with touch. That old switch also has a hold mode, and uses much less power in the off state.With the following disadvantages, I can barely recommend this switch anymore, even with its relatively low cost:1) deep dimension, and therefore difficult to cram into the electrical box.2) switch offset from mounting bracket requires shims to make it flush with the surface of the drywall.2) lacks a "hold" mode3) button hard to locate by feel4) Uses excessive power even in the "off" stateThe only remaining advantages:1) looks fine2) reliably works for what it was designed to do3) cheapI'm now seriously considering eating the cost and swapping these out for better switches.

Why I took so long to find this device escapes me. I expect the electricity savings alone will pay for these fairly quickly as no longer do our fans get left running for extended periods wasting electricity and exhausting our AC air! I researched switch timers and settled for the non-digital display style and simple preset time intervals to keep things simple. At this price point, the cost of 2 switches was very reasonable. The "switch" out was fairly easy especially having home electrical experience already. The instructions are fairly clear and concise but some situations may be more complicated. Having an electric multimeter will be necessary to confirm the wiring unless otherwise identified. For my situation, I replaced two bathroom fan switches one of which was on a 3-way switch circuit. If you have this situation, you will only be able to control the timer from one location. The other 3-way switch will simply become a master on-off switch for the fan in that circuit. The operation of the timer switch is simple and very precise for the 10-20-30-60min switches that I installed. As others have mentioned, the design could be better if the button were a little larger but other than that, it's perfect for your average bathroom use! You just press the button to cycle through the time intervals and back to off to cancel. Some have noted that their switch boxes were too small but as mine were fairly deep, I did not have this problem. Tucking wiring into switch boxes can often be difficult so it's good to plan ahead and make allowances for the switch unit and wiring. I was also able to get mine to sit flush with the cover but individual situations may vary. They've been in use for about a month now and both are working great. I'll update if I have any issues with their functionality/reliability.

I don't know about anyone else's outlet boxes, but mine are all crowded with a lot of wires and wire nuts. This switch is a big chunky box with a bunch of wires coming out of the bottom. That makes it hard to squeeze into an existing outlet box. I did manage to arrange things so the box fit, but I could not, after 30 minutes of struggling, get it to sit flush in the 2 gang decora switch plate. It works fine and it is solid but it just looks sloppy and no amount of twisting, tightening and loosening and re-tightening would get it to sit flush in the faceplate. There may be some trick to it, but I don't know what it is. It looks particularly sloppy because it is next to a normal decora switch which sits very nicely in the faceplate.Other than that it works fine and does exactly what I needed, which is to run the bathroom vent fan after a shower for 20 minutes to clear the moisture out. I like the lighted display. I like the fact that it doesn't tick like the old one, I just wish I could get it to sit flush.
