Reeds are sturdy. I gave some to a friend of mine. She seems happy with them. None were cracked or felt weak. I'm happy with them. :)

I'll start off admitting my bias. As a band teacher, I cringe every time a student comes in with their new reeds that come in a 10-pack plastic case off of this site. Typically I find that 5 out of 10 work well--there are often just too many variations in the cut, quality of the cane, or warping. Though they're half the price of the orange or white&red boxed reeds, if only half of them work well, did the parent really save any money? These did little to change my bias. When reeds come up in the Vine program (yes, I got these for free), I'm always willing to try out free reeds. The catch is, I never give them to beginners. Beginners don't know if the problem is their mouth or the reed. My more experienced players can tell right away if the problem is the reed, so if one of them runs out of reeds, I'll give them one of these while they wait for the ones they ordered to come in. So far, 3 of 6 have worked well, and the other 3 were either warped or cut poorly (in the pictures, you can hopefully see the uneven cut from side to side).Sorry, but I can't recommend these. 2 stars because some of them work.
