Love the natural wood color. Great quality

I was delighted at how high quality these maracas are. Very well made, with a good quality finish. I bought them for my infant son who loves music, and he seems to really enjoy handling them and is fascinated with their sound. He could conceivably gag himself with the handles, so these are supervised play only, but that's fine.

I liked that these were wood and I also like that they are small for my little one. However, they hardly make a sound and she really doesn't play with them. Instead she uses them to beat on a a drum...not exactly the purpose of these but at least she will pick them up and use them for something I guess! =) She loves to shake all kinds of things, bottles with liquid in them, dried products in boxes, but not these little shakers.

These are pretty small, but have a nice, distinct (though not very loud) sound. So far they have been appreciated by the adults who have tried them in our house as much as by our kids, which is who I bought these for. (I bought these along with other Plan Toys instruments [tambourine and Preschool Big Drum] for a "band set" for Christmas.) These seem pretty sturdy, are smooth to the touch, and have a warm, pleasing appearance.

These are a great size and good quality. Our boy loves playing with them while eating lunch. A nice distraction from having him grab for his bowls constantly. Not much more to say, they are small, child-sized, wooden maracas.

I bought these for my daughter when she was 18 months old, hoping this was one occasion where going with a high quality product wouldn't backfire if they were destroyed or wouldn't be overkill for her development level, and I was totally right! They've been a staple. They arrived as described They're very solid, but light, and the finish is smooth and beautiful. Nice craftsmanship and a natural wood finish. Definitely worth the bump in price over the plastic ones. I know you get a different, sharper sound with the plastic ones, but these are earthier and just more beautiful visually and aurally. She has a couple of egg shakers, too, but I love these the best. She was using plastic maracas in her music class and these are perfect because they're not too loud but they make a great sound. These tough little suckers have been on the job with my busy, and very musical toddler for over a year now, and she loves them every time she re-discovers them. They have taken a pounding and look the same as they did when she got them. They sound great and I have little doubt that she'll have them for many, many years to come!

My son LOVES these maracas. They are the perfect size for him and have a nice sound. They aren't annoying like some of the plastic rattles. I also like that they don't have any paint on them since my little guy likes to put them in his mouth and chew on them (no worries about eating paint even if it is non-toxic). I had been giving them to him one at a time, but one day I gave him both to play with at the same time and the look on his face was one of pure excitement! He couldn't believe he had two of them!

These are perfect for my 10 month old, he loves to shake them and since they are pretty thick and durable wood I am sure they will survive his infant years and many years beyond. He is 18 pounds, 30" and can grab these well - not too big and not too heavy. They are not 100% perfect, one of them is very quiet compared to the other (I suppose from different thickness in the wood). This might be useful to get different "tones" out of them. And I would not recommend them for someone playing music in a band because they are relatively quiet. However, the quiet aspect is wonderful for a child or someone wanting to practice without anoying everyone in the house. They don't seem likely to break, which is a big plus for someone with kids. Also, they are very nice looking in person, natural wood, unpainted.
