1974 FJ40 parts can be hard to locate. This Master Cylinder fit perfectly.

I bought this for my mountain rig and this weekend was the first time I had it out since the installation - unfortunately just past the window of opportunity to return it. The problem is that it does not seal, the fluid leaks back when I push in the clutch and it does not disengage. This is very dangerous when I’m rock crawling and could be deadly.

For use in my 1974 FJ40.Installed one in 2015 that pooped after 12 months. Installed second identical unit in 2016 so, as of this writing, is 3 years old. I'm not a huge Beck Arnley fan (you can see why), but considering both the $37 price and it only takes 30 minutes to swap in a new one I suppose it's okay.UPDATE (8/22/19) : Lost another star ... 2nd master is on it's way out.

I have a 40 year old Toyota Landcruiser that I use to plow snow in the winter. The last several years I've been getting air in the clutch release system and have had to bleed it often. I ordered a new clutch master and slave cylinder from Amazon. They look identical to the originals, fit perfectly, were cheap compared to what Toyota charged, and I no longer have air in my clutch hydraulic system. I love Amazon.

This product fits the 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 with stock 4-speed as a replacement for the stock Clutch Master cylinder. Its 3 bolt pattern matches the holes in the firewall, and the line to the slave attaches correctly. I would take the time to find a replacement crush washer when changing this and the clutch slave. Also, on my truck, the brake booster is very very close to the bolt closest to the passenger side of the vehicle, so when I finally got that bolt out, I cut it by about 1cm so it will not be that hard to put back in.Much cheaper than buying through an aftermarket Toyota supplier, I will update this review if the product fails prematurely. Installed March 2010, working strong.
