What we have is either a great set of adjustable clamp bench dogs, or a nice item with a short life expectancy. More on the latter….latter. All aluminum construction dog with a knurled section to afford more grip. The clamp function is via a threaded clamp with a non mar base. Offers great adjustability with excellent clamping force. But there is the latter I spoke of, the threaded post that applies the pressure is mated to the top arm and threads thru it. Therein lies what, and I only what might be, as I was saying might be the Achilles heal of this. Hard metal screw tightening down within aluminum threads. Now as I said I am not saying it will, but the chance I’d say is above 50% that the threads will be damaged, just so little every time you apply force via the clamp. Will it fail? Don’t know. Will I be watching for damage? You betcha, and that’s the reason I give only three stars at this time. If I for sure knew it would fail, by stripping the threads, I would only rate at one. So only time will tell and I will return if I see evidence that goes any way good or bad. I think, no I know these will work great, I’m not sure for how long. If they don’t strip the threads these will be a great addition to any woodworkers work bench.

These may not be the most heavy-duty bench dog clamps out there. But having a pair of good bench dog clamps handy that will accommodate and secure materials is a must for a woodworker. These are made from a high-quality aluminum alloy, nicely finished, and definitely sturdy enough to suffice for most jobs I'll get myself into. Too, the cost for the pair is truly budget-friendly. When viewed by those standards, they're easily an all-around winner.

These clamps are listed as both 19mm and 3/4". 19mm is just a touch under 3/4". 19mm = 0.748 and 3/4" = 0.750. I’m not complaining about this but I just wanted to point this out. I have 3/4" bench dog holes and these are tight even in 3/4" holes. I feel these are actually just a touch over actual 3/4-inch in diameter. They were really tight in the bench dog holes in my workbench. I had just ordered alongside these clamps, other aluminum bench dogs (not clamps like these) and they fit perfectly in the holes as did other bench dogs and clamps I have got in the past and that is why I feel these clamps are a little oversized. These clamps still work fine but they are just tight.Looking at the thickness of the aluminum tubes on these clamps, I’m guessing they are between 2mm-3mm thick. The red finish on the clamps and the knurling on the handles/tubes really looks good. When I tried these clamps out, I tightened them down on some wood and I think they worked very well. They held the wood very firm. I even over tightened these clamps a little and there was no failure of the threads. Now, I guess I could have put a wrench on the knobs and kept cranking until failure but when I do reviews, I use the tools as I normally would do in the workshop and then review how they work under normal conditions. I did wonder how they would hold up and that is why I did crank on them a little harder and they worked fine. Even though I did tighten a little harder, I still feel it was within an acceptable range and not extreme.Outside of feeling these are a little bigger than advertised, I think they are pretty decent clamps and are working fine so far. I’ll just have to wait and see how they hold up over time but I think they will be okay.

Nice quality manufacture but in the end will only be for light-duty use. The leg that goes into the work-bench is hollow and fairly thin so these are not going to withstand very heavy work but will work nicely for light-duty. The peg is knurled so it holds in the hole well and the hold-down is long enough to hold thick stock.

The metal is very thin. Feels like it would break if I put any real pressure on them.
