But I think there are things you need to do to make this device not leak.

It would be nice to have some instructions how to install, handle, trim, or adjust the wick. With several trials I am still trying to keep the lamp burning for more than a few minutes.

It is a very cute little lamp. I have to tell you, DO NOT use lamp oil or it will leach out and start a fire. Use olive oil only. This is what they used back then. It will produce a nice light.

It definitely has a authentic biblical feel.all though I did read the the review of this product and did seal it with a rubber spray let it dry for a day and have used it and it has not weep or leak and oil.we use what we had on hand. Sunflower oil I all so bit some Frank incense and Mer I put in a Ziploc bag covered with some paper, pounded it with a meat tenderizer to a powder, added it to the vessel with the sunflower oil and it has a fantastic smell, which is very inviting and calming great little light that it emits so we will now be using this as an alternative at night while watching TV instead of using a electric lamp. So not only cool and need to look at a conversation piece. We can also cut down on electricity. I plan to buy more for myself and my kids.

I gave these to my spouse for Christmas and we put wicks and olive oil in them and lit them, they burn well. Thankfully, we decided to place them in little corning dishes and after a bit of burning, we blew them out and let them sit over night. This morning, we say olive oil in the dish but NOT IN THE LAMP! These things SEEP OIL, it will get EVERYWHERE rendering them useless as oil lamps.

I liked the authenticity of these, very simple but they worked great and were the perfect size, ready to carry and the dish they came with was unexpected. I bought two just fyi. You'll want more than one, great job! I used avocado oil because that's what I had at the time.

I started a lamp collection many years ago, and wanted an older variant to be a part of that collection, so I took a chance on this one.The product is as described, and works well. There really isn't much to expect from a clay lamp, except for a lack of leaking. This is a simple, and well made lamp.I'm currently burning olive oil in mine, with my own homemade wick made from cotton.

This clay lamp works well. I suggest that you don’t use a lamp fuel, though. Olive oil works very well and the wick burns nicely with it.
