I purchased this for a slightly different use case. I had bought a travel bag for my son's 24" bike. Even at the smallest setting on the bag, I just couldn't get the bike to fit. My daughter's 24" was just an inch longer and fit just fine. I bought this Thru Axle Fork Mount Rack Adapter to get that extra length and it worked perfectly. It was super easy to install and held the bike securely over the 4 flights that we made that weekend. And let me tell you, the airlines weren't gentle as we watched them load the bags from inside. It saved the day and we didn't have to return and then buy a different bike travel bag. So we definitely saved some money and hassle!

Despite what some reviews say it works fine with Thule racks (see pics) and the clamps clamp solidly on the flats on the side. A slight curve at the bottom makes it almost impossible for this to come out if you lock it on right. One tip is to make sure it slots all the way down, I suspect the “not my first rodeo” guy didn’t do this according to his description of what went wrong.Bike hand continue to surprise me with their quality. Not the fanciest looking stuff, but their tools and now parts are great value for money. Better quality than you’d ever think for the money too.

Little tricky getting it properly aligned in my bike's droputs, so the skewer would slide through. But it felt secure once I did. And I needed to orient it just right with respect to the fork mount on the roof rack otherwise it wouldn't lock in. Minor quibbles; overall it worked as advertised.

Got this adapter to use with my mountain bike and a Thule 518 echelon roof rack.The adapter is a nice hunk of metal, fits the forks and mount perfectly, and passes the shake/pull test.

Axel converters seems simple enough. However, some are too tall or bulky and maybe overpriced, which is why I liked this one. It seems to be lower profile than many on the market and a fraction of the cost of similar products. I was able to really tighten the skewers and lock them onto the converter. Go as tight as you can for peace of mind. It has not shifted much since installation. I’d easily buy another. You could get 2 of these for the cost of one other converter.
