Set this up to help keep my potted plants watered without having to drag out the hose every day and it has been doing a great job so far. The solar panel charges the unit quickly and it has held enough power to keep things running even after a couple of cloudy days. Programming it was straightforward and once it was set, it has been consistent and reliable. The tubing is lightweight but flexible enough to run around and between pots without kinking or popping loose. It is a great solution if you want to automate watering but do not want to mess with a full in-ground system or timers connected to a spigot. I like that it keeps things simple and runs quietly while doing exactly what it is supposed to do. It is especially helpful for those hotter days when things dry out fast and I am not around to catch it. Definitely a useful little setup to help stay on top of watering without constant effort.

All the hose connections leaked…the computer was constantly on ‘error’, but for the price it kept my nursery alive for 2 weeks. For a longer term I plan to upgrade

It was not hard to set up. It works, and it helps me when I’m busy or working overtime and forget to water. I do love gardening. This helps make sure my plants stay alive. They get watered consistently and reliably, but not overwatered. My plants are still alive, even though I’ve been giving them less care. It’s also great for my laziness. I especially like using it on my cucumbers. I need to keep the soil moist to get a good harvest, and this system helps with that.

We actually use a 32 gallon outdoor garbage can with a securing lid as our bucket, we simply drilled a hole in the lid that fit the hose perfectly, leaving no space for mosquitos to squeeze through (we do use mosquito dunks, too, though). We use the system at all times, not only when we leave - we wanted to figure out which settings were just right for our situation (frequency, length/amount), how long the water in the bucket would last, how the solar panel functioned on cloudy days, etc. We just wanted to have the peace of mind that we wouldn’t have to worry about coming home to a dead garden, and after using it, watering any other way would be terrible inefficient - this system waters them better than we ever could due to the drip system and the system’s precision. One of my favorite parts is not having to get up before 6 a.m. in order to have time to water before starting work. I also love that the solar panel is separate from the controller - it’s so much easier to work with this way. This system is also a fantastic value!

Now, I see a ton of uses for this setup. right now I am setting this up to water my plants when I go out of town. With using a bucket for the water rather than having to connect to a bib you can set this up pretty anyplace that the solar panel gets sunlight. This is a great thing if you move a lot or want to change locations for some reason. it means a water source is less of an issue than it would with other water systems. Just have to remember to add water to the bucket. I'll update after I use it for a while, but right now it's working well. Comes with a decent amount of hose and other needed bits to get things going. The attachment pieces appear to be the same as other similar watering systems so finding additional fitting and hose shouldn't be to much of an issue.
