There are a lot of reports of dry pens out of the package, but I shook mine for 30 seconds as per the instructions, then pressed the nibs repeatedly straight down onto a paper plate for another 30 seconds and they all worked just fine. The pens are great for coloring front blade sights (one coat of white, let it dry for a couple hours, then another coat of white, dry, then repeat with a color coat or two of orange or green) Let it ALL dry before using a pick or sharp knife to remove any overruns, then coat with a clear nail polish. (My wife had some Sally Hansen 'Hard as Nails' and it worked fine.)For painting dots on a rear sight, I recommend using the end of a tiny allen wrench. Use the white pen to color the end of the wrench then carefully dab the dot on the sight. If you're painting a sight with no dots, mark it with a pencil first. If the dots get too big, use nail polish remover and an old t-shirt to remove them and start over. Like the front blade, two coats of white with drying between coats, then colors or perhaps even a final white coat, followed by the clear nail polish.

Buena calidad, solo hay que practicar un poco antes, quizá aplicarlo sobre una prueba y después ya en el lugar previsto, aconsejo hacerlo con cuidado y poner quizá un poco de cinta para evitar que se corra la tinta

As others have noted, the tips of these paint pens are not the right tool for the application of sight paint. That is after the trial and tribulation and tip damage of getting the paint flowing to the tip of the pen.As the pictures show 2 of the tips were very loose and came entirely out of the mechanism with the slightest of tugs. I have used several different paint pens at work and I have never seen this before. I tugged on the dry tip after "priming pumps" (about 40) yielded no paint. After another 40 pumps paint was finally flowing to the tip. The tip was shmooshed beyond any question of using it as a fine applicator for even a ramp sight. After making a small puddle on a board, I applied the paint itself with toothpicks or the tip of a tiny dowel in the case of making safe/armed dots for my safety switch,The paint itself is very good. The colors are very bright with the application of the white base layer mandatory to bring out the intense florescent color. I applied two coats of white and two coats of color. It would be an excellent product in a different container (like a small tube). The thickness could be a little denser if they moved away from this totally useless paint pen delivery mechanism. I have even thought about carefully nipping the top off the pens and transfering the paint into a more appropriate container. But that will wait till the next project I need them for (probably after the tips become dried and even more useless).Having said that, I will reiterate the paint itself is great for the stated purpose with great visibility.

It's not magic, folks seem to expect to just point it at a sight and expect perfect popping paint job.Clean up the surface with a solvent and have some on hand (along with q-tips & paper towels) to clean up any excess/drip. Apply 1-2 base white coats and at least 2 color coats for best results - but you gotta let each coat thoroughly dry (12h+) before putting another. Drip some on a side then use a toothpick as a precision applicator if the tip is too big for the sight you're working on (eg winged front sights).Don't worry if you mess up - it's easy to wipe it off with some solvent on a rag and start over. Might take a few tries to get it right if you haven't done it before, be patient. You'll have to reapply occasionally anyways as it eventually rubs off.I've painted both pistol and rifle sights with great success, all it takes is some prep, skill, and patience.

I received the Green, Red, and White kit. After opening it up for 1st use I remembered seeing a few other reviews that stated their White pen was dried up and I can confirm that mine was as well, however the other 2 were what I really needed it for so i wasn't at much loss and chose not to contact customer service for a return/exchange. The Green went on 2 revolver sites really well, and I used the red on the front post of another. It was a little on the watery side, but after a 2nd coat I found it passable and definitely an improvement over the black on black sight picture.Would buy again if I needed, but if you are looking for the white I would be wary. Not quite sure why the white dries up so quickly.

Green Pen let paint flow no problem. White paint pen seems like the paint has hardened inside, doesn't make the same sound when sharing prior to use and paint doesn't flow.
