This is a great starter set for anyone needing wire fencing. The fence itself is sturdy enough to keep good sized critters (deer, coyotes, or raccoons) out of areas you’d rather they stay out of. The cutters work well and the finished product looks good. Great financial value. The one negative I had was the gloves, they did leave a bit to be desired and ended up discarded them for my regular work gloves.

I live in a city, but at the end of a river gorge populated by deer, foxes, chipmunks, ground hogs, and other mammals. Those mammals love to come into my garden and eat my plants, whether ornamental or for produce. With 100', I was able to encapsulate my victory garden and other areas so they would not be eaten by my furry neighbors. The black coating is durable and flexible, it does not easily chip or peel when unrolled. The black also helps blend into my surroundings and looks nearly invisible from certain distances. I appreciate the value of this product and I will likely buy another roll once my Japanese garden is complete.

Good quality hardware cloth, I got the 1 inch grid. Rolls out easily and the PVC coating makes it easier to work with your bare hands. Although you won't have to with the included gloves. Also included are small zip-ties (looks like at least 50 4-5 inch white ones), and a set of snips so you don't have to buy any.Should work well to keep out garden animals. Easy to cut and work with. The black PVC gives an alternative look to standard hardware cloth and seems to blend in better. It should also give durability to the underlying metal. A good alternative if you're concerned about lead solder or metal impurities in other hardware cloth.

Hardware cloth or welded wire mesh has a wide variety of uses around the farm. I acquired this Wirewonders 1-inch Mesh Hardware Cloth primarily to make tubular cages to protect newly planted trees from animal damage. The 17 gauge, 1-inch mesh is still relatively easy to work with, but stiffer than the more common 19-gauge material so is better suited for making protective cages. The mesh squares are neat and even, the welds secure with no extending wire nubs or other protrusions. Cutting this with tin snips, or angle grinder, is not difficult, and the hardware cloth is easy to shape without being overly flexible or “floppy”.I find the black PVC coated mesh especially suited to more prominent locations where a less noticeable product is desired. I like it better than what was similarly priced and available at my local farm supply stores, and it came directly to my house rather than spending time stored outdoors and weathering at my local supply yard. Time will tell if the vinyl PVC coating lasts as long hot-dipped wire, but until then, it is a lot less visible and therefore more attractive to me. The 1-inch squares reduce the cost and weight relative to half or quarter inch mesh, but are still effective against deer rubbing and rabbit chewing. Overall, a very versatile and cost effective product.

This material is designed for chicken coops, but it also works great for low fences around beds with plants that rabbits would mow down, such as peas and sunflowers. I cut the 36" width in half with the provided snippers, and ran this around the top of two of my raised beds (note that 18" on its own may not be high enough for rabbits, but the 8" height of the raised beds is added to that . This will keep the rabbits from mowing anything down.Unlike the galvanized fencing I was using before, this is much less visible by virtue of being vinyl coated in black. It's also a fairly thin-gauge material, which makes it easy to work with, while still being strong enough to stand up between two poles that are about 8' apart. It's nice that it comes with a pair of flush-cut snippers that allow you to cut this without leaving sharp ends. It also comes with some protective gloves.Overall a great, good value product. I will use this anywhere I need to create some rabbit protection around plants.

I have a fenced garden with 6 foot tall wire fence because I live in suburbs and deer decided that anything that I put in the ground is their meal. Even daffodils albeit poisonous. I suspect that all 12 of them smell the broken dirt and come to investigate what tasty morsels the stupid human left for them. One nibbles, does not like and moves on. The second repeats and moves on. By the time the 12 of them move through, nothing is left. So, que the fence. Stops the deer. Not the squirres and chipmunks. This once does though. The squirrels try to climb it, but something in the coating or, maybe the spacing, does not agree with them. So I have been noticing that I dont have them trying to get in after a few attempts.I am now thinking of getting another one roll to place it around and under the porch to stop the rabits and whistlepigs from dwelling under it.
