Nice lightweight wood. It has a very rough finish though. Installation was a pain as the brackets have no mating brace and it doesn't come with a template. You are manually drilling 16 holes that need to be accurate to 3/32nds if you are trying to get these perfectly square and level with each other. It does come with wall anchors and screws that were half decent. One of the anchors exploded on me, but it came with a few extras. Usually I have to use my own anchors/hardware. The brackets are well designed for what they are and will hold a decent amount of weight for the small shelf while keeping it level and sturdy. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. Cost is currently $20 and that is great.

These are so nice once they are installed, which does take a bit of effort. Other reviewers are very good at describing the difficulty of installation, so I won't, but it is...oddly complicated. They are a very nice flat black with a fair amount of texture. So may not like, I love it. You can set a marble on these and they won't roll off. Says a lot about how level they are as well. They seem to be quite sturdy so far and I'm guessing balsa wood for their lightweight. I'm planning on getting more to do a line around my bedroom ceiling for the many knick knacks I have.

First impression: These shelves are dense and hefty... which gives the impression that they are well made and not flimsy.Next impression: The included brackets that are used to slot the shelves onto the wall... these are a nice iteration of brackets! I've used other brackets included with other shelves and had trouble lining them up, marking, drilling, and installing the shelves... not with these shelves. This version made it easy... I used a level and some tape on the wall to determine the height and placement of the shelves, then I marked the holes using the brackets, then drilled the holes, then installed the brackets and shelves no problem.I'll definitely buy more of these shelves as they are the perfect size to display Pop figures.

The shelves are easy to install. They are sturdy & do hold a good amount of items. I wouldn’t put anything too heavy on them though. My only issue was the screws, I used my own because it was easier/better.

These shelves are definitely a good value. The shelves are made from a lightweight wood, but considering they're shelves, I consider that a good thing since I don't want super heavy shelves plus the weight of their contents anchored into my wall.Originally, I was looking for the brackets and thought they weren't in the box. However they were shipped inside the shelves. And all required pieces come with it. Tools do not.They did NOT come with a template for drilling the holes/anchor placement. We made our own template by lining the back side of the instructions up with the edge of the shelf and tracing the bracket holes. NOTE: If you're alternating the position of the shelves off of a center line, you'll have to flip the paper over so you're always using the same edge to measure from the center line. So you might want to mark that side of the paper.As far as placement, we decided to alternate off of a center line, going 2 inches each way, so that there was a 4 inch overlap in the middle. Once we mounted the bottom shelf, we measured 6 inches from the top of that shelf and marked the spot for the next placement of the template, etc. We didn't take into consideration that the holes were drilled for the template and not the bottom of the shelf above, so it actually left 5.5 inches between the shelves.Once we mounted the first shelf, we found that it wasn't quite level. My husband said the screws included are tapered heads, but flat heads would have been better for a more precise placement. So we adapted: we left the bracket screws loose, put the shelf on the brackets so it would line them up, then removed the shelf and tightened the screws.Don't be scared off by the above information though. It makes it sound like it's more of a project than it is. I just wanted to give a heads up of things we hadn't thought of. But installation really isn't bad, you just need to pay attention as you go and maintain the same measurements through the entirety of the project. If you're placing them in a straight line from top to bottom, it'll be very simple.I'm VERY satisfied with the shelves

Love these shelves!I rent so I rarely put anything up on the walls but we have been here so long and I have some special items that I wanted to display. These are perfect! They are actually really thick and sturdy. I was able to install them myself with clear instructions and so far they are holding up well with just some photos and various light items on them. They look very sleek and expensive :)

These shelves look beautiful. They were easy to install though I'm not sure about the quality of hardware included. Thankfully I needed them for lighter decor so I'm not too concerned. I think if using them for heavier items I would buy better hardware. Overall they're pretty and I like them.

I was impressed with the quality and overall look of these shelves. The quality was a clean sleek appearance with solid black dark even color. The size is nice for small spaces, especially corners. Installation was easy and screw placements slots perfectly aligned. The weight of this product was on the lighter side but depends more on what you plan on placing on the shelves. Overall, I like this product it can go in any room on any wall and you don't even need to use all four shelves in one place.
