Advantage of Handle for Vermont Castings
Handle is more durable and longer-lasting compared to ceramic, and it won't break easily if you accidentally drop it. The fall away handle exists because the handle is located very close to a hot part of the stove, you don't burn yourself when adjustments are made.

It is what it says it is, but it doesn't last. The heat cracks this handle in just a couple months and makes it useless. It's certainly a design flaw. I buy 3 or 4 at a time to get through the winter.There has to be a better material that will resist the heat, and last longer.

This is a chunk of plastic. Not wood or the ceramic of the original. It melted and warped almost immediately. Save your money.
