…..which came as a bit of a surprise, as I’ve seen similar caps made from a thinner gauge of copper sheet metal. I suppose that is why the price is higher than other copper caps, so you have to decide if these are truly worthwhile, as you can easily find less expensive ones.

I've used similar caps on several projects in the past. The copper weathers into a nice greenish patina. These are a bit thicke then some others I've used. They fits a standard 4x4 post well. These don't have a hole in the side for nailing, but it wouldn't be difficult at all to drill one if you chose to.No reason not to choose these.

Vine customer review. I got these because they’re little copper pyramids, so I’ll use them to cover crystals and jewelry. They’re exactly like the photos.

I don't if these will really do the job which I am hoping they will do. But, I have had an issue with birds perching on my older wooden post caps and making a mess on and around the post and railing. I was thinking that the metal might deter them from perching there as they should be a little more slippery than the wood. Plus, they look kind of classy and appear to be all copper and won't need painting.

These are pretty thick copper and have a nice smooth finish on the outer side. They also fit over a 4x4 post rather loosely in my case. They just kinda rest there and they could be blown away by a strong enough wind I feel. I'll need to come up with a way to make them for more snug. But overall I feel that the price is a bit high considering this issue. They do look quite good and once a patina forms they should look even better with age.

These copper toppers are excellent accents especially for arts and crafts style vibe. There went 100% basic and easy to install within literal minutes. I am wondering if this is real copper though I don't think it is which means that it will not get that cool vertigree patina huh with age.

Stamped solid copper post cap. Very substantial - looks like about 0.020 thick solid copper sheet - you don't need anything any thicker, this will last forever and eventually patina. Being actual solid copper, you could also patina this yourself with various chemicals. Instructions for that on YouTube.
