I got this kit to use with my B&M Unimatic style ratchet shifter. This kit is required to convert to a floor shift from the column on a Ford AOD transmission. There are a few other minor components and adjustments you'll need when completing this adaptation. If you're working with a newer E4OD transmission you will need a still few extra pieces and a different lever kit. This kit is for adapting the shift level bar inside your transmission and you will need to be both familiar with, and comfortable with modifying your stock transmission setup. The reason is to accommodate the position the cable for your B&M shifter will need to be in. This bracket allows you to aid in shifting, as well as to get your shift cable in a position that will clear your exhaust. If installed incorrectly, you will melt your shifter cable. So, if you're either unable or uncomfortable with this I suggest you take your vehicle to an ASE certified shop and have them install this kit. It is not extremely complicated, but it is extremely important that you get it right. Sorry for the rant. I recommend this seller.

If you have the b&m shifter that this was designed for you should save yourself some trouble and order this. I tried to fabricate my own to save some money but it didn't come out right. looking on line afterwards I found tons of people that tried the same thing as I did and ended up buying this afterwards. The length of the shift arm is different than the stock arms. also the angle the arm comes out is different. so it matches the shifter stop locations for all the gears.For what they give you this is totally overpriced, which is why so many people try to make their own in the first place, but I would say it is worth it to save you the time and head ache of engineering your own.

Must have for any AOD swap. Had the shop install it in mine and my new shifter was a piece of cake to set up.
