Part number is right but parts are not

The float needle was too long for a 4hp Mercury/Tohatsu even though the description says it's compatible. Basically, all I used was the float bowl gasket.

Was able to use the gasket and screws but the float is wrong for a 2002 Tohatsu MFS6A2.

Did not work on Tohatsu MFS6C as advertised. Float and Fuel Pin were slightly larger in size than the original part; causing fuel from entering carburetor as I pumped my fuel line bulb after installation. After 2nd disassembly it seems the float is stuck in the up position due to it hitting the outer float bowl housing. I installed my original parts and the carburetor worked fine; receiving fuel and stopping when the fuel bowl was full. Lessons learned, measure part dimensions to match original parts prior to install.

The part is not as advertised. Does not fit. How do I know this? Because: 1st: it's not the same as the old part that I removed. 2nd: It's not the same as the Tohatsu part I ordered (same part nr) and received from another vendor. Clicked RETURN, but could not get the item back to UPS in time, too much turmoil going on after hurricane IDA.
