Took minutes to swap at a fraction of the cost of a Yamaha Carb.After cleaning my 22 Year Old carburetor last year I ended up having the same issue this year (motor randomly stopping, then having to play with the choke in weird ways to get it to stay on/ taking a million pulls to start) So I purchased this even though it only had a few reviews.DO NOT HESITATE! I put it on, primed the gas & after it took probably 5 cord pulls the VERY first time it started, now it ALWAYS starts first pull AND I can idle as low as I want without the motor shutting off.Check your model of course, but if you've got a 2 stroke Yamaha 15hp this thing is perfect, probably the same for 9.9 but I don't know cuz I dont have a 9.9- Anyhow, Real Person here with a real 14' simple fishing boat and a real 20+ year old motor this thing just made like new! (I also changed my spark plugs last year, dont forget to do that too!) Only had it on the water once so far will update if it fails but I don't see why or how even that would happen.

I have a 2011 Yamaha 2-stroke 15, and the carburetor has clogged twice now in the past few years. It will run with careful partial-choking, but its not pretty. Since the carb is fairly easy to pop-off, I thought I would get a spare, so I always had a clean one ready, in case the working carb developed a problem. So, I got this one for $74. The Yamaha carb lists for about $250. I unbolted (2 bolts) mine, popped-off the throttle and choke linkage, and the fuel line, and had this one re-connected within 60 minutes, running perfectly. I cannot speak to any long term issues, as I just installed it, but if its built as well as the original, it should be fine. (I know, Duh.) The materials seem as good as the original, from what I can see. Now I'll clean the original, and have it ready for next time.

Perfect replacement for the original on my 2009 Yamaha 15 MSH! Very easy installation and the engine started on the first pull and ran as new.

I rebuilt the OEM carb for spare, but this was plug and play simple. Engine runs great.
