It came with a very nice instruction. Easy to follow and understand. The pusher is nice, too. The only downside is the location of spigot. It is above the floor. THe instruction says to empty is every other day or so to prevent getting rotten. But, in order to drain, I would need to tilt the body. And also not sure if I can drain completely given the design. With the other brand, I once broke the spigot and the drain could not be done. The outcome was: rotten smelly mass. So, I had to threw away the whole thing including the body. Out of this experience, I decided to return this. I may not be able to remove the juice every other day. Otherwise, I think this is a nice product.

Last year I purchased the Bokashi starter kit from Biorfe. I selected this brand from the field partially because it seemed to have everything needed to get started, and partially because of its appearance. The design of the buckets is very appealing - nice enough to leave on our porch in sight of the front door to our house. Having two buckets allows me to fill up one and let it sit for two weeks while I start working on filling the second one. When I “feed” the buckets with new compost from my kitchen scraps, there is zero unpleasant smell. I love that I can harvest the liquids from the buckets to fertilize my vegetable garden plants. The garden is doing great this year and I’m guessing the Bokashi fluids have a lot to do with their health. I planted some vegetables over the site where I buried the composts last year and plan to continue to do this into the future. Bottom line: I’m glad I purchased this composter and feel it was well worth the investment.

After decades of gardening and composting, I had never heard of the Bokashi Method, until I stumbled upon the Biorfe Starter Kit at Amazon. We had stopped adding kitchen waste to an outdoor compost pile because of all the critters such as rodents, possums, racoons, rabbits, fox etc. that it attracted who want to eat our veggies while possibly bringing dire illness (rabies is prevalent here) and danger to us and our pets.I am delighted with the BiorFe Kit. I did NOT like putting our kitchen waste in the trash--throwing out all those good nutrients for our gardens, and ultimately for us.My one problem is the lid is very difficult for this arthritic grandma to remove. I hope, as suggested by another reviewer, that with use, the plastic will become more pliable.Also, Customer Service at BiorFe is excellent--it is a pleasure to deal with them.

I was exciting to use this and everything looked good, and was as expected. However after just 2 weeks of using the lid has cracked. It is important to have a good seal on this as it will not work if oxygen is getting in. Disappointed this happened already as it was not cheap.

I have had this Bokashi system for about 1.5 years. I love it!1) It allows me to conveniently dispose of my collected food waste scraps indoors.2) A year's worth of using the run off as a fertilizer has my garden looking really great!3) Two potential negative issues are:A) Potential odor. As the waste vegetable material decomposes there is an unpleasant odor in the bucket HOWEVER, keeping the top securely closed completely takes care of this issue. I keep my Bokashi system in my laundry room indoors right next to the kitchen.B) The top CAN be hard to remove. It just takes a little experimentation to learn how to remove the top. The tightness of the closure is necessary in order to keep the odor under control (see A).I heartily recommend this system to anyone who wants to keep food waste scraps out of the garbage stream, especially those who like to garden with natural products.

I’ve set the bin up and have started the composting process. What really stuck out is how well made the bin is, it’s made of really sturdy material. The lid is very secure which definitely creates that anaerobic environment, too. It’s too early on to say how effective the set up is, but I’m sure I’ll get a good amount of composting liquid just because of how well put together the whole set up is. It’s made bokashi composting very easy. Also, the customer service is top notch! I was missing a compressing lid in my kit and they sent me one asap. Highly recommend this kit!

Great materials but bottom should be level to the faucet inorder for the liquid to flow without tilting the bucket. I'm 69 y/o and I struggle to get the liquid out.

First order arrived and one of the tops was broken. I received the replacement and it came without an exterior Amazon box. Frustrating to me because they require the return to be in an additional box, but they don't practice this methodology. Bins are cheap and topscwill Crack and break very quickly. I am waiting for a better alternative. Unable to return replacement because it is not broken, but it is NOT worth your time or money.
