The cord is approximately 2 feet (24 inches).Love that it turns off when you pick up the mug. Keeps the coffee a nice temperature. Easy to clean if you spill/ring of coffee on it.

It was a gift for our grandmother who was stuck in the hospital, she was able to make herself a cup of tea whenever needed. It does take a while to heat up, but it worked for what we needed.
