These little bookends look nice while also being unobtrusive. The metal base sort of just slots into the wooden stand without any fasteners or clips of any kind, making them easy to put together and to take apart (if necessary for some reason). The wood itself is nicely grained, though one was quite a bit darker and the lighter one had almost a tiger maple like pattern in the grain - strangely running opposite to the grain - but none of this is a big deal in a bookend. If someone notices the color or grain of your bookends are different from each other, they should not be welcome in your house anyway! Seriously though, these are really nice.I will say that they are rather small. I know the listing gives the size, but I guess those measurements just didn't register in my head. A 6 1/8" tall and 4 1/8" wide end is good for paperbacks, but looks a little small against large hardcovers. Don't get me wrong, they are certainly fully functional on all but the very largest books and would be less noticeable with larger books too. It just depends on what you are looking for in a set of bookends.One thing that did strike me as odd, and you can see for yourself in the pictures, is the length of metal base. Once put together, they are actually wider than they are tall! And when you pair them together, they need quite a lot of space for such small bookends. The picture actually shows the minimum amount of paperbacks that you need to "fill" these. Granted, you could overlap them, but that will set your books up off the shelf too much (in my opinion), so you really need at least twelve inches of books to use these properly.Now, obviously those last two paragraphs were being extraordinarily picking and I'm doing so only for complete disclosure. These are still five star bookends as they looks very nice and do the jobs well. They are very sturdy and can be used with any and all book sizes, with the possible exception of oversized art book and the like. They are also a little larger than many of the others on Amazon that may appear to be a better deal....until you see the dimensions of the others, which are generally an inch and half smaller than these. All in all, great little bookends a reasonable price!

These are well-made bookends. They do a good job of holding up my books. I have had no issues with them slipping.

Despite these bookends being of average height, they hold heavy books very well because of their long bottom plates. This means they are too long for just a handful of paperbacks. The wood ends are nice looking and smooth. They fit together quickly. Very pleased with these walnut bookends.

These are really beautiful! They look true to the image shown and feel quality-made and actually came with instructions (which is a rarity these days), which were very clear-cut and easy to understand. I ordered the large, and they are big enough to hold large books with ease, so a plus for functionality.They came with little felt-like sticker dots, which help with slip resistance and keep them from scratching the surface of the bookshelf. Very happy with these, and the price feels right for the beauty of the wood and sturdy construction. I recommend!

These are even nicer in person than I expected! The wood finish is actual wood and looks really nice. The base is solid metal and not hinged like a lot of similar designs. They also come with soft feet to protect your furniture. Overall, these are exactly what I was looking for and function perfectly. I'll likely order more soon!

These bookends were super easy to assemble. They're sturdy and add a touch of elegance to my office desk. Simple, but well-put-together, these bookends worked great to help transform the space from a terrible mess into a functional place to work.The price is indicative of quality in this case. The size was perfect for the large stack of books and notebooks I needed to contain - and now I don't have to pull them out of a pile to get at them!

These really bring organization into a look. I ordered these because my TBR pile was all over. I love having them in one spot and looking polihsed and put together. They are a good size. Not too big so you can't see the books, but not too small where it doesn't hold them well. It didn't take me long at all to put the bookends together. The directions were very clear. They seem solid and like they will last for a long time. The wood look is really nice and goes with many different decor styles. For the price it's a no brainer.

I ordered the large sized bookends. There is some assembly required when they arrive. It is very simple and easy to do. You simply insert the metal tab into the bottom of the wooden part. Then stick some small foam rubber dots beneath the metal base. The dots have adhesive on them. That’s it!The wooden part of the book ends is stained and otherwise unfinished wood. There is no wax or lacquer finish on them. The wooden surface is smooth and looks nice.Even with a lightweight build, these do a great job holding up books without sliding or moving. I’m very pleased with the quality of these book bookends.
