Nothing to dislike about the product. Like that it actually chambers and ejects just like an actual 223 round, pluss it comes with extra batteries. Would highly recommend.

Bought to use on my AR 15 for sighting in my red dot scope. Works good but drains the small batteries very quickly..

Dislike that the battery’s die so fast , so your gonna have to buy some battery’s for this ASAP . Only got thru 3 rifles to sight them quickly . 50 yards out sighted and with 2-3 test shots and worked . But can’t get pass battery’s died fast . They might as well not gave you battery’s so at least you would have some fresh ones

Update: I've grown to really like this bore site. I've had no more issue getting the batteries in, I mistook the included diagram as saying you should stack that batteries before you put them in which seemed like a good idea at the time to make sure none got spun around on the way in. But several times since then I've tried just putting one battery in at a time and it goes much smoother that way. Also, the problem I was having getting the bore site back out of the gun has been resolved. I just had to press harder than I was initially comfortable with on the forward assist to get the extractor to engage. I have to press much harder than a live round after easing the BCG onto it. I was treating this thing like it is delicate and I'm not sure that's a fair assessment. But do NOT think that you will be loading it in from a magazine to get it in there easier, you may damage it trying since the it does not have a bullet sticking out to help ramp it in. Not a design fault, just beware.Original Review:First thing you need to know is that no laser bore sight is a substitute for sighting in at the range. Think of these as a way to get a good starting point for that. But this can really save you time, money and embarrassment. It's pretty embarrassing when you show up at the range and can't even figure out how to get hits on the paper. Not to mention the wasted ammo cost. Once you're lined up pretty close, it's easy to adjust sights for the last little bit with live ammo.Second thing you need to know is that due to law, no laser for the general public is likely to be bright enough for reliable broad daylight use. You used to be able to get brighter lasers before people couldn't help being a nuisance or danger to other people with them. I've had a few different other bore sights and I always end up having to wait till it's dusk or dawn for a good visual on it. This is no different, but it is brighter than most. Why not 5 stars? It's rather awkward to use. There is no way to turn it on and off other than installing and removing the batteries, which I had a much harder time doing that I'd like to admit. These batteries are tiny. They had to be to fit in this caliber. The directions give you a helpful pointer to stack them with the proper polarity before you put them all in at once. Otherwise they will flip around as you insert them. Maybe my dexterity isn't what it use to be, but I still dropped batteries 3 times before getting them in. I've seen other products that arrive with similar little batteries but they are bound together in a thin film with the ends exposed. That would have been nice and made things much easier. Maybe I can figure out how to do something similar with scotch tape. The other thing I didn't care for is how hard it is to get back out of the gun. I thought I was going to have to use a cleaning rod to knock it back out but after slamming it down on the butt stock 4 or 5 times it fell back out. But maybe it needs a tight fit to do a good job so maybe that's good. What I liked: The one I got seems pretty accurate. I took it out and put it back in at different angles to make sure the 'POI' didn't shift and it stayed very close in relation to my red dot at 20 yards. It is also very compact, which is why I'll probably be storing it in my grip or butt stock.

One of the harder things to do with sighting a rifle is to get the scope into alignment without using excessive shots to get the rifle to where it is hitting your target. At that point you use your scopes adjustments to get it dialed in. The tried and true method for this is with boresighting but is limited in the types of rifles you can do this with. In the past I would remove the bolt from the rifle and looking through the barrel from the butt stock I would center the target and then adjust the scope to be pointing at the same target. This does work, but maybe not as fast as one would hope. It is prone to user error. This laser boresight allowed me to boresight at a longer distance without removing anything. I was hitting paper faster than ever. The best part is I was able to do this would rifles where I can’t remove the bolt easily. I was able to quickly use it in my semi-auto rifle. If you have never done any type of boresighting, you should level set your expectations as to what boresighting will do for you. It is not going to have you driving tacks and cutting holes in the center. But it does put you on the paper quick where you can then dial in things much faster. One drawback to the laser is the further I try to use it, the harder it is to see. So consider doing the boresight at dark and then come back the next day. Another option is to check some ballistic charts and boresight at the furthest distance you can see the laser at, but having the boresight aligned appropriately to the ballistics chart you are using for your zero.Item is pretty basic, pop in three batteries, screw on back, and it turns on. Load into your chamber, point at paper and adjust scope accordingly. Very simple to use.
