I really like, Bosch tools especially the routers, but they used horrible switches. I've replaced a lot of these as we have about 5 here in the shop I work at. The price on these are great and I get the 2 pack, because guarantee that once one goes, another is right behind it. I don't even bother testing the routers anymore, I just replace the switches and they work again every time. These fit directly and doesn't have a universal fit feel, well made and inexpensive.

Bosch 1617 (woodworking) routers are great -- smooth, strong, stable -- but the switches can go bad all too often. Fortunately, these are the right replacement switch, and easy to replace. My shop has several routers in service most days, and I keep a couple of these on hand. It takes about 10 minutes to swap one out, and no soldering is needed. One less repair headache. My router switch finally got enough wood dust in the switch to not have power to the motor. I ordered these for replacement but wanted to use the router before they arrived. The switch can be taken apart and cleaned along with polishing the contacts, which is what I did, and it works perfect. I'll just save these for when the switch completely fails.

Easy peasy replacement that got my 1618 working perfectly. Literally took 5 mins. And now i have an extra for when my 1617 fails.

Router suddenly stopped working. Although about 10 years old, not much time on it. Basically, could only be the brushes or switch, I bet it was the switch, and it was. It seems dust gets into the switch and prevents contact. Repair is quite easy, remove the 2 cap screws, remove 2 switch leads, and push the switch out. Remember to squeeze the sides of the switch to remove. You can also use a small jumper wire on the switch to verify power is not going through the switch, just make sure power is dialed down.

Looks like an exact fit. I blew out the old switch with WD40 and it worked ok. Have not used these yet.
