This filter was acting like a clogged filter, causing the oil check lamp to come on for 1-2 seconds at every hot restart.Even worse when engine is cold.After removing and inspecting it, I found that the louvers inside the filter were barely open, which would have restricted oil flow.I replaced it with a reputable brand, and the problem was resolved. German or EU-made Bosch filters used to be superior, but this one is definitely junk.Be cautious when purchasing.

Oil filter sockets do not fit this thing very well which made it difficult to remove in the cramped space under my car. I had to get a special tool that locked on like vice grips. The grooves where the socket is supposed to slide in are not deep enough. Given the difficulty for removal, I don't think I will buy this brand again. There was a real risk of it breaking, getting stuck on my car, and leaving me stranded. I do all of my own oil changes and never had this problem before.

I saw an in-depth oil filter comparison on another site (don't recall now if it was an article, video or perhaps both) that gave the Bosch premium filter a very high score. It scored well in construction, filtered out the smallest of particles yet has a good flow rate. It is also very competitively priced so I gave it a shot.Now, it's all I use on my cars and I love that I can order them here on Amazon at my doorstep.

I got this Bosch oil filter on recommendation from Scotty Kilmer on YouTube. I don't know if they used to have Silicone gaskets AND anti-drain back valves in the filter at that time. The one I got only has the ADBV made of silicone. The gasket is made of, either, nitrile or rubber. I have no reason to doubt Scotty's advice. So, guess I'll see how well it works over the next 10,000 miles.
