Could not find a new 5t axle except for used from eBay for 1991 hybrid bike. Worked and even though 2.5 mm shorter was able to put stock chainring back on and not have to adjust derailleur.

I used this as a replacement for my old finicky cup and cone set in a 73mm Schwinn Taff 29er frame. Fit was absolutely perfect, bearings are smooth and firm. Completely resurrected my old MTB, now I'm back on the trails again ! As long as your threads are still good in the frame shell, this BB takes about 2 minutes to install ... just anti-seize lube the threads, carefully line up, and it installs all the way with just finger turning pressure. A quick tool tighten, re-install crank arms, and you're off!
