This is a very nice, heavy-duty hitch pin lock. Quality seems very good. With the rubber O-rings, it's quiet against the hitch too. No rattling. The only thing I didn't like about it was you have to have a key to lock it. On the lock that came with my KUAT bike rack, you don't need the key to insert the pin into the lock. It just slides in and auto-locks. The downside to that is if you forget to take your key with you (since you didn't need it to lock it), now you are far from home and have no way to unlock it. But I still like the auto-lock feature, and I've always remembered to keep my keys with me.Also, be sure to check whatever you are inserting into your hitch. This lock easily slid into my Toyota Highlander's 2" hitch with a 3/4" opening, but it's 1/8" too big to fit into my KUAT bike rack's opening. Apparently, my KUAT bike rack will only accept a 1/2" hitch pin. The fact that this lock won't fit is my fault, not anything in the description.I'll find another use for this 5/8" lock and pin. It's easily worth 4.5 stars and if you don't care about the auto-locking feature, it's a 5-start item.

It’s sad that we need these but that’s just the way of this world I suppose. I don’t tow much, but it’s nice to be able to keep my hitch from walking away from my receiver when I do. And combined with a tongue latch lock, these provide reasonable assurance that any trailer I use stays where it’s supposed to as well. This lock fits just fit in my receiver/hitch holes. It’s well made and seems robust…with regard to the rubber dust cover, operation/function, and a pair of keys. Though the listing claims (only) use for 3 inch receivers…the pin span is 3.5 inches, so it should work on any standard width receiver, with the rubber washers included to diminish rattling, and “take up” space for use with shorter-width receivers.I see where competitor units have a hole and a cotter pin for non-locking use. I suppose that is a nice option, but I have a handful of regular/non-locking hitch pins, so I don’t really see that as a lacking option for this one. Plus, if I don’t require a locking pin, I’d rather use a cheaper pin, and not give thieves the opportunity to steal (1/2 of) my locking pin.Above things considered, this is a nice lock.

I recently upgraded to the BOYISEN Hitch Locking Pin, and it’s been a reliable addition for securing my boat trailer. Made from high-strength steel, this one-piece forged hitch lock has no penetration space, providing excellent protection against theft for both the trailer and the hitch ball mount. Its universal compatibility is a major plus. With a 5/8" pin diameter and a 3.5" effective pin length, it fits perfectly with Class III/IV/V hitches, accommodating both 2" x 2" and 2.5" x 2.5" hitch receivers with a 5/8-inch hole. The lock has been practically tested to handle up to 20,000 lbs, which gives me confidence when towing heavy loads. The weather resistance of this hitch lock is impressive. It’s protected by a watertight dust cap and is coated with a durable powder finish that effectively prevents corrosion, ensuring long-lasting use.An added bonus is that it prevents rattling. The precise measurement and cut, alongside 8 high-quality rubber o-rings, ensure a snug fit, minimizing noise during towing and providing a smoother experience. The lock comes with two keys, which is convenient for keeping a spare in case one gets misplaced. Overall, this hitch locking pin offers robust security and reliability, making it a great choice for anyone needing dependable trailer protection. I highly recommend it for peace of mind during towing!

I guess I don't remember having orings in the past but I do like what they do and I'm happy to have them now. This is a great lock and the rubber cap to keep out the water and mud is great. The keys are a little ruff at first but they worked right in after 4 or 5 times of unlocking it. I also like the finish on the pin and think it will keep any rust or corrosion at bay. Better than average hitch pin lock, I like it!

Good locking hitch pin! The key turns smooth, easy to unlock it and lock it back up. Nice black finish looks really nice, has rubber o-rings to prevent rattles and noises, and a rubber protective cap over the key hole. Fits nice and snug in my Tundras receiver, my old pin finally wore out after many years, opted to try this one out, hopefully it lasts even longer!Good price for a nice looking locking hitch pin!

I put this on my Jeep and it took no time at all to install. It seems much more stable and safe than the old style pin that was held on by a cotter pin. As long as this doesn't rust on the keyhole, it should be fine. The seal isn't the tightest I've ever seen. I'll update if it doesn't seal out water well enough to prevent rust.
