I do have the movie soundtrack. This, I believe, is live recording? Good variety of blues. I wouldn't say it better than movie soundtrack. But it's not bad either. Music selection on the soundtrack is more familiar to me. I'm sure after few years, this will be familiar also.

I grew up with SNL and the Blues Brothers so I knew what I was getting so should you this album plays very well and it represents the sound that the Blues Brothers are known for, it has some great live moments and tracks and some not so great as expected.

Mit dem Kauf dieser 3 CD, hat man fast alles zusammen.Tolle Musik, immer noch Ohrwürmer und erinnert an meine Jugendzeitund bewirkt bei mir wieder diese tolle Erinnerung an Damals.Ich bin ein Starclub Kind seinerzeit gewesen. ( 72) Ich habe alle fast Oldiesder 50er bis 70 Jahre und mehr auf meinem PC und meist auch auf CD, sogar noch in Musik Kassetten.Sogar die Vornamen meiner Söhne sind hier, aus dieser Zeit namentlich, auf dieser Welt( Elvis und Cliff, wären es mehr, würden weiter vorhanden sein.)Diese CD über die Blues Brothers sind genügend und auch zum großen Teil noch Hörbar und Passend,mit diesen Drei hat man von den B.B. alles was man braucht. ( Meine Meinung). H.T.

To be fair, I wasn't around when this album actually came out, so my interpretation of how popular this album was when it came out is probably ignorant. But growing up a generation after these guys, I never thought much of them. They're just a couple of SNL guys playing a bit for a movie and doing some musical numbers to go along with it.Wow is that ever an ignorant, underrated approach to this album. It's actually fantastic, John was a talented musician in his own right. I grew up on the blues and frequent the local blues scene here, I've listened to more than my fair share of blues music and I still listen to this album several times a week, it's that good. The song selection is great and they give every song their own sound that stands up by itself.I don't know if being tied to the SNL characters helped or hurt the popularity of this album, but it's worth adding to your collection, regardless. I highly recommend buying this one.

L'unione di due attori iconici con una super band e ottime rivisitazioni di grandi classici del blues non poteva che produrre come risultato tantissimo divertimento (e durante l'ascolto si può percepire sopratutto quanto si divertano Belushi, Aykroyd e i musicisti). L'affiatamento e la "tightness" della band portano questo disco live - a mio parere - a livelli superiori della più famosa OST, e sono da manuale della musica. Per essere un progetto nato quasi per scherzo, il risultato è eccezionale.
