It was stated to be "pre-seasoned" but it was obviously not. There were spots of rust on the base and on the rims of both parts. I removed the rust spots and tried to cook a Morrocan dish in it, and even at low heat and low water level, there was splattering from under the rim that got everywhere. It was rust-colored, too. I looked at the underside of the lid in a good light and saw that the whole underside was rusty. The rust got into the food, ruining it.The thing was definitely not pre-seasoned. And the rim is defective. Do not buy.

Heavy duty cast iron top as well very heavy when lifting the lid. Tip of lid is already loose and I need to tighten it with a screwdriver. Must alway treat or else will rust.

I have had, and used, my tajine for years. Mostly have used it in the oven because I'm always apprehensive to use ceramic type materials on the stove top. When I saw one made of cast iron I had to get it. I have used it at least a half dozen times in the last month since I got it. It's perfect...and looks great.

Because it is cast iron it is more versatile than than the clay and indestructible. It is season well just like a Lodge out of the box. It also doubles well as a braising pan. FYI some of the cheap Tangine cookbooks are excellent and worth the price. It makes super flavorful dinners and guests love it. Bought another for my vegetarian daughter

Well I finally received my all cast iron tagine today and it's defective with a large 1/8 of an inch hole that is very deep. I stuck something in the hole to measure how deep it is and it's only about a half a millimeter shy from the hole going all the way through to the other side of the pot. What's going on with quality control over there with this manufacturer? Now I have no "All Cast Iron Tagine." I asked for you to bring the "All Cast Iron Tagines" back on Amazon, you did and I bought it immediately and now I'm the one still without one because now they're not available again. Not a happy at all about this!UPDATE: The company/seller took care of this defective tagine. So the company/customer service is a 5 star.

This is the third Tagine I’ve owned. The first two were traditional pottery tagines. Unfortunately, those cracked. I then went on a search for an un-breakable Tagine. I ended up purchasing this cast iron one and I totally love it. I own several cast iron skillets, so I am familiar with the cleaning and seasoning process. This Tagine is just like any other cast iron piece. With proper care and seasoning it will last forever. Attached are a few photos (before, during and after) from my first chicken Tagine. It turned out amazing!
