Overall, I'm glad I got this tester. It was easy to use. No battery (except for the one being tested) required. I guess if your battery is really dead, your tester won't turn on at all. I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy. I got this to test my lawn mower battery. I used it in place, without disconnecting the wires. The tester was easy to navigate to choose the battery type and test condition, but when it was all said and done, it said to recharge and retest. Well, I had jumped the battery the day before and then mowed the lawn for an hour or more, and then tested it the next day. I'm expecting that the battery is no longer good. I did test my car and boat battery and both said they were good. Being able to test the boat battery in place is huge to me. Oh, and the screen is brightly backlit, which made reading in the hull of the boat wonderful, I even used it as an area light to read the battery.

I just received this recently so I can't speak to the longevity of the battery tester, but I can assure you that it does what it says it will in the listing.It's pretty easy to figure out how to use this, even for a novice. I've tested my batteries with multimeters and used trickle chargers that had features to supposedly recharge a deadish battery, but I wanted something that could straightforwardly tell me the health of my batteries or alternators.Anyway I like the simplicity of this, put it on the battery and off you go. It tells you what you need to do and thanks to other reviewers I was aware that you needed to know a few things about the battery that the tester doesn't tell you and I was easily able to look them up.So far it seems to be reliable and has worked on the car and mower batteries I've tested it on.It's small enough that you can literally store it anywhere. The price is comparable to others of the same type and it's worth it to have some knowledge about the health of your batteries. I'm happy I ordered this so 5 stars from me.I'm happy with it so far. Good tool to have in the Ole toolbox.

This is an excellent product, and it works exactly as designed, is well made, and albeit light, the simplicity of this product and it's value proposition is exactly why I'd recommend it. It is powered off the battery you're testing, so no need for tablets or changing batteries. It is easy to use - if you know what you're doing (it doesn't come with technical instructions for testing batteries, but if you're using this you probably know, or can easily look up instructions). I tested a series of batteries and cars that I had around and it correctly identified the state of charge and the health of each one. Surprisingly, I had a battery sitting around that I had earlier replaced and wasn't sure if it was good, and it identified it as healthy. Knowing your battery state (i.e. whether you need to change a battery or replace an alternator or just charge the car) can save you hundreds in batteries. All in all, a good purchase, I should have got one long ago!

Competitively priced BT10 vehicle tester that can test batterys from 8-16VDC with a minimum capacity of 100CCA or 100A AH. The GB spec if selected allows you to test down to 12AH for that specific battery case.This tester supports many different battery chemistries : flooded, AGM ( multiple), Gel, EFB and the new lithium battery types. You must also select the battery capacity, and there are many : CCA, IEC, EN, DIN, CA, BCI,MCA, SAE, JTS, and the new GB specification.Battery quality testing, starting tests, and charging are all included in this quite small and lightweight tester.Overall quality is good, however this product is quite lightweight so probably won't hold up very well throwing it into the tool box unprotected. Accuracy was good compared to my commercial tester, however the B&W screen is bright but more difficult to convey overall status as effectively as a color screen.Considering the reasonably accurate readings, smaller B&W screen and overall price/performance, this product meets the 4 star criteria.

The battery tester performs reliably, delivering accurate results across a range of battery types and chemistries. The buttons are responsive, and the menu structure is straightforward and easy to navigate. In terms of price, it sits comfortably in the middle of the market. The terminal clamps open wide and hold securely, which is a plus. The wires—appear to be silicone jacketed and while not the most supple I've come across - they are reasonably good.
