Nice and compact and also stackable. I'm using mine to organize my crafting paper for quilling so I can see what colors I have. They are also great to organize specific types of pens and pencils. They look exactly as pictured and arrived quickly.

I do a lot of paper crafting and these pencil storage containers have been a game changer! Interestingly, I don't use the boxes to store pencils, but the containers are great for storing small items for my paper crafts. I usually use the boxes to store stuff "in process," such as sentiments for cards, small die cuts and so on. The boxes easily and firmly stack on top of each other and the lids are easy to take on and off. Best of all, the containers don't take up too much space. But have really upgraded my storage needs.

I use these pencil boxes to organize my craft room. They’re clear so I can see what’s inside plus they stack nicely on top of each other. I have one for my patches, another for my sewing pens, others hold my coloring pencils. They really do help keep my space neat and clean.

1-7-254.5 starsI'd say these are slightly better quality than ones you were able to find at the dollar store numerous years ago.They are a generous length so you can stow whatever you would like in them. I shareded some photos of common items to give you an idea of their size.The latches have a light positive lock to them they would be easy enough for younger children to open and close without much effort which is great, but I wouldn't consider them friendly to be flopping around in a backpack.I suspect over time and use the plastic may wear down and they may no longer snap closed.I'm using these in my sewing shop to stire all kinds of little stuff. They make for easier organization rather than pulling out a larger bin and sorting through it to find what I'm looking for.They have nice smooth flat areas on the long and short ends so you could easily label them.I like them well enough I'll probably be back to order more in random colors for the back to school season when we fill them with other necessities in backpacks to donate.My only gripe is they are not labeled of what type of plastic they are for recycling purposes.Hopefully my written and photo reviews are helpful, Thank you!

I ordered the pencil boxes with light blue handles. They are clear so you can see what is in them. I did not necessarily plan to only use them for pencils, but for a lot of the smaller craft items I have. So I have pencils, mechanical pencils, markers, pens, erasers that easily fit in the box. The boxes stack very easily and shut easily. You can put them about anywhere - on shelves, in drawers and on a desk. Some of the other things I use these for are paintbrushes, beads, wires for beading, flash drives, usb adapters, embroidery threads, and I also am using them to protect the glass straws I have for some of my glasses, and a hundred other things. These would be great for classrooms or art teachers. I highly recommend these!
