terrific as I did 1275 miles down the Mississippi River so far. I have dragged the boat along the shoreline with kayak weighing 65 pounds plus my gear of 75 pounds,I. used the leash to tie to docks in fast moving water, etc. this is a wonderful leash. I now use it on my surfski in the Pacific ocean and no the salt water doesn't bother it any more than the muddy water. It still looks new. One complaint its too thick must have been a different leash. One complaint too long, well yes it may be, So wrap the clip end around something to shorten it. Might I caution you if you fall out in the ocean that extra length can allow the paddle to float out of your way when you reenter the boat, and if you are dragging your kayak along the shore or the boat dock that length is beneficial. A re-coi l device would be nice but they always get stuck. I think this is the best.

This was just what I needed to make my paddling even more enjoyable. Sometimes it's tricky to get on and off my combo SUP/sit-on kayak, and letting the paddle float while I do this is very helpful so I don't have to worry about it floating away. It was also great the couple of times I fell off my craft, allowing me to recover myself and the craft without worrying about losing the paddle. I even used it to attach my water bottle to my swimming float so I didn't have to worry about losing that! Handy to have.

I bought this to go with my grandsons paddle we bought for Christmas. He has not used this as of yet but it's necessary to keep from loosing the paddle. It looks like it is well enough to do the job.

I purchased these AFTER my kayak capsized against a big tree that was laying across the river, I was side ways alongside the tree trunk and with the water rushing against me, could not move. In getting out, the kayak filled with water and everything I had with me that wasn't in the enclosed part floated down the river. I was able to retrieve all but one shoe, and realized how lucky I was that I kept a grip on my paddle. I had a couple others that came back to help me get the kayak emptied out, which was nearly impossible with all the water rushing in.All turned out well, but I knew then that I definitely wanted something to hold my paddle in case this ever happened again and I wasn't quite as lucky. This bungee leash is a very nice quality and easily connects to the paddle and the kayak. Don't be without one if you're paddling down rivers!

These have worked great for my kayak paddles. I only go into the ocean and have to fight large waves to get out. Even though I have paddle clips the waves will knock off these paddles from the kayak and these leashes keep the paddles from going AWOL. Very good quality and priced right.

I am very happy with this paddle leash. I chose it in part because it can be installed over the blade when the paddle is not the type that breaks down. I have both style paddles (and two kayaks.) I like the extra length as I sometimes use my paddle leash to secure my boat to the dock. Until now, I have been using a piece of nylon rope for both leash and tie-up, so this is a step up for me. The clip is a little difficult to squeeze and install on the rigging, but it is similar to other rope attachments on my fiberglass touring kayak. I also purchased a leash with a carabiner. That one is easier to clip on, but I prefer this leash for reasons mentioned.

It works fine for keeping track of dropped paddles, but I'm concerned that if I were to become tangled after capsizing it would not break away like one with a velcro attachment and could pose a safety risk.

I purchased three of these for mine and my son's kayaks. It works great at a great price. Since I do a lot of fishing from my kayak I also use one of these to secure my extra rod. I normally carry two rods. I don't bother securing the rod that I'm using because the leash get's in my way. But I do use it to secure the second rod which is sticking up in the rod holder behind me. I normally fish in cypress covered bayous and lakes so I'm often paddling under around tree branches. The branches sometimes drag the rod out of the holder send me scrambling to grab it before it sinks. Now I don't have to worry about it. I just slip the leash over the grip, snug it up and drop in the holder behind me. It's a good leash. Go for it!
