This is more for show. Size was nice Functionality wasn’t that good. You have to keep it in the refrigerator after a day or unless you use that amount that quick. Appearance is nice.

I wanted to move away from margarine but couldn’t let go of the soft spread on my toast in the morning. After watching a few videos, I found out that if one uses a butter crock, butter can be easily, safely left on the counter. I shopped for a while before finding this little gem. It’s working out perfectly. It has a modest appealing design and doesn’t’ take up much space. I hold 1 stick of butter neatly. I had a slight issue separating the lid from the base because the was a lot of tissue paper between them. Great purchase!

Love this beautiful butter crock. Keeps my butter at a great spreadable temperature. Easy to load and holds a good amount of butter. Water in the dish keeps the butter fresh and it looks so nice on my counter.

I don't know about anyone else, but I grew up in a house where people just left butter out on the counter in a covered dish that was uncovered half the time and it never molded or went rancid or anything. I bought this to protect against any unseen grossness that might be floating around in the air, but I stopped putting water in it because even if I was refreshing it nearly daily, somehow it kept making the butter mold. Stopped putting water in it, no more mold, butter is still safe and sound and soft. So, do with that what you will. The quality of the bell is solid at any rate.

Fill the bottom with icy cold water Put your butter in the top. I melted A stick of butter in the top. I out a stick of butter in the top and Microwaved in 10 second increments until it was level. I then put it in the fridge until it cooled. Change the water every other day. Stays on the counter and your butter is soft and spreadable! Great little gadget

It is easy to use and looks sweet on the breakfast table.I would recommend not to fill it all the way- unless you eat butter every day- because it can still go bad here.The knife is very good for spreading and scooping the butter on bread.It is heavy and just white- but it looks very classic and nice on the dining table or on the kitchen counter.
