I got this adapter as a secondary adapter for my HP Thunderbolt dock, and like many other Cable Matters products it delivers well! It's 100% plug-and-play, no drivers required. It's important to note though, that like many other USB-C (and DisplayPort products in general) the port needs to be DP-Alt capable, and if you need to get all the snazzy 4k/240 or 8k resolution output you NEED to have a host device that's capable of DisplayPort 1.4.. just throwing this on a generic USB-C port won't work.Like many other Cable Matters I strongly recommend this adapter, if you can check all the boxes for it's function. It feels well built and is priced competitively!

This USB-C to DisplayPort adapter works with my Acer Swift X 14 laptop, which is connected to a Dell monitor. The adapter is designed for Microsoft Surface laptops but also works with other laptop brands. Overall, the adapter is well-built, functional, and reasonably priced.

So I just got this because I needed a quality USB-C to display port adapter so I can plug into my Microsoft laptop. Now I don’t have a Microsoft Surface laptop, but of course, this is working just fine. This plugs right into my thunderbolt 4 port on my laptop and the display port cable that I have plugged into my external monitor, which is a Samsung monitor, and it works as expected. Note that this cable adapter is not powered by anything other than the laptop so you would need your monitor or whatever’s attached to the display port to be self powered. So my monitor of course has a power supply and my computer has a power supply, so that’s not an issue.Seems to be a decent quality cable. I have no complaints it functions as expected and I could probably get away with a cheaper option, but I’m happy to have some thing a bit more durable. Hope this helps!

This adapter is designed for Microsoft Surface, but it will work with other computers. I plugged it into my Steam Deck, and it worked fine with my variable refresh (VRR) display. This adapter is handy if you only have a full-size DisplayPort cable. The body is made of aluminum, so it should be very durable.VRR seems to work fine. I played some retro games that run at 55Hz, and the display synced fine at 55Hz. I'm not sure which chip is used inside this adapter, but it definitely supports VRR.Overall, this works fine and is a good thing to keep with you in case you need to connect a DisplayPort monitor.

I have been hunting for an 8k adapter that actually delivers 8K. So far the most they can typically deliver is 4k. I'm using multiple computers and multiple 16k cables and have yet to find an adapter that can support a Neo G9 57" (Only half the resolution of 8K) let alone something truly 8K.If you don't care about 8K this seems to deliver a solid and crisp 4k resolution which is still very nice. The build quality is nice and feels durable.

Cable Matters is one of the brands that I have had good experiences with. This product delivers on that reputation.Good, solid construction. And while I can't test that it meets all the specifications, I can confirm that it has worked well for me. I used this to connect my Dell Latitude to my monitor in order to get 120Hz output using the discrete graphics card. And for that it has worked.

Connected my Steam Deck to my Samsung Odyssey G8 4K monitor with no issues at all. The output to the monitor was just as clear as my desktop PC.
