I bought these extensions to serve as a sort of manual switch between the displayport cables coming from my desktop and my macbook (so that instead of disconnecting and reconnecting directly at the monitor port and possibly wear it out, I do it on this extension cable).While it is not stated directly in the description of the product, this cable does support DisplayPort 1.4 up to 32.4Gbps. This means that it is possible, for example to output 1440p (or 2k) at 240Hz, which was my requirement and uses about 95% of the available bandwidth.If you also have such high requirements in terms of bandwidth, you need to be mindful of the total cable length (original cable+extension) considering how this is a passive cable extension. In my case, the original cables have 2m which, with this extension, puts the total cable length at just below 4m. I think anything beyond this point would probably not work well because of small losses and energy dissipation in the cables and the extension link. However, in my case it seems to be working extremely well, with no flickers, blackouts, banding or any other visual artifacts. In regards to durability and how its performance holds up with use, only time will tell.For now I absolutely recommend it!

Using this extension with a single display port (and no other connector) monitor so that I can swap between work and personal device without having to move my pc every time to plug the monitor in.I have not experienced any issues with the signal and the daily plugging and unplugging has so far had no effect on the connector, leaving me confident that it is quality and should last for the long run

My only focus was getting an extension cable for my HP Reverb G2 (VR headset).VR headsets can be particular about what cables they work with. I'm presuming that it has to do with the data bandwidth that the cable can handle. I'm happy to report that this cable successfully works with my HP Reverb G2.I paired this purchase with a 6.6ft USB 3.0 that also works. (SKU: B00P0ES0YE)

Purchased this extension to allow me to more quickly change from my gaming desktop to my laptop on a 4K Asus monitor with only one DP connection. For my work laptop using a 3ft DP cable + this 3ft extension, I get zero dropouts. Same for my Surface Book 3 using a 5 ft USB-C to DP cable + this 3ft extension. However, with my gaming PC (using an old R9 290) I get very infrequent dropouts using a 3ft DP cable into the extension. This only happens perhaps once every other gaming session, and I have yet to figure out a rhyme or reason to it. Guessing it's an issue with either the GPU or the 3ft cable on that side of the connection. Still, something to keep in mind vs an active DP switch (in the hundreds of dollars, of course).

My wife and I share a Rift S between two separate PC's, and it got somewhat tiring messing around in the back of the PC trying to plug our headset in so I purchased two of these (along with a USB extender) to have a short extension to make plugging in the cables easier. I did read some reviews saying they had no luck with any length cable, but I'm happy to say ours have worked flawlessly. I have tested on both machines, one running a 1080 TI and the other a 2060 Super and they seem unaffected by the cable. I have played multiple games as well (including HL: Alyx), running max settings without delay, flickering or noticeable change. We get a small extension to our play range and its way easier to get these plugged in!

It doesn't come up as connected in the software, doesn't show up as an available monitor. Just a dud cord, thanks..Received another cable for free as a replacement and it works so far with no issues. Plug and play. No stuttering or random disconnects. Happy with the second cable! Thank you.
