This adapter works as it’s designed to. It has good solid construction, nothing fancy, just simple. It also has gold-plated contacts which is a plus. It meets its specs bi-directionally.I test HDMI adapters for continuity and also for integrity in the adapter itself because you can’t always tell how well an adapter will perform by doing a simple continuity check. My test includes sending data packets to check the adapter’s ability to actually handle 4K 6G transfer rates and bandwidth. The ability to handle ARC and CEC is also tested.Running the tests is pretty straightforward and easy to set up. The adapter passed all of the initial quick tests with flying colors, i.e. +5V, Hotplug, DDC Bus, CEC, and ARC. The adapter is also tested to see what resolution it can handle. This adapter passed at a resolution of 4096x2160p@60Hz bidirectionally. Higher resolutions aren’t tested.Next, the test equipment performs the long test for adapter integrity and bandwidth for a minimum of two minutes. The adapter passed the tests easily even when I switched ends to further verify bidirectional capability.Would I recommend it for others? Yes, this is a very good adapter to use for your HDMI needs.

This adapter does it exactly what it is supposed to. The tight fit and solid design are just what you would expect from a quality adapter.

I took my cable with a male mini-HDMI and male HDMI and plugged in the mini-HDMI end into the adapter making it a male to male HDMI. Then I plugged in the resulting cable into my laptop and into a computer monitor. It worked as expected.

This connector is well-made but does not transmit sound, and will be returned.Update August 18, 2018:I write a lot of reviews because I read and value other buyers reviews. I hate the fake or "compensated" reviews, and try very hard to provide accurate and helpful information about my experiences. In this case, I failed myself by writing a review based careless efforts. In fact, the adaptor works fine, transmitting sound as expected. I apologize to the manufacturer and to anyone who made a decision based on my inaccurate review.

I have a pretty complicated setup to plug my Surface Pro into my 42" Philips TV:Philips TV has HDMI outputHDMI->mini HDMI (for when I plug it into my desktop, which takes mini HDMI)mini HDMI->HDMI adapterHDMI->mini DisplayPort adapterAnd finally, the mini DisplayPort plugs into my Surface Pro.After all that, I'm able to easily connect my Surface Pro to my Philips TV! Unfortunately, my TV isn't 720p or 1080p, so I have to set my Surface Pro's resolution to 1024x768. It's not ideal for dual screening, but it works for when I want to save energy by not using my desktop.Overall, this is a great little adapter! It's cheap, it shipped fast and it works!

I already owned a HDMI to Mini HDMI cable to allow connecting my Lenovo Tablet 2 to my TV. I was about to buy a HDMI (to HDMI) cable to connect my phone (which itself has a MicroUSB to HDMI adapter) when I saw this adapter. I was happy to not have to carry an additional cable around and this was also a cheaper solution to connect my phone. The adapter worked as described and seems sturdy.
