i have a M16 Kohler engine. the starter i got does not turn the engine over very fast. certainly not as fast as the starter i took off. it does turn over fast enough to start the engine but am not confident it would work for an engine that does not start so easily as mine has.i have not complained or asked for a replacement. kind of assuming this is what you get for the price. And maybe would be fine for a lesser HP engine or a worn engine with less compression.Just FYI.
