Worked for a while, but started leaking after a year. Definitely wouldn't purchase again.

We received a damaged unit. We contacted Amazon and they emailed a return label. The replacement came the same day we sent the damaged unit back. Everything looks great and is exactly as described on Amazon. We won't be trying it out until summer camping, but so far we are sure this will perform as advertised.

Excellent capacity, simple to use, odor-free, easy to maintain, very portable - what more can you I say? If I had to scrutinize one thing - it would be the lack of clearance in the front end for male users - an "elongated" seat version would be nice!

Ok, I saw some reviews complaining about not able to empty the tank or get the waste out. I had the same issue but now it’s resolved. This is what you need to do:1. Make sure the toilet treatment solution is put in the tank2. Do not empty the tank right after use. Let it stand for 7 days so that the waste can be broken down3. Pour the waste after 7 days4. Fill in fresh water and pour the waste. This should be repeated 3-4 times. And you will start to see clear water coming out. This means the tank is now cleaned.Overall it is easy to use and comfortable. The only difficult part is to empty the black tank. But now i got it resolved. Will continue to use it for camping.

We love this thing!Easy peasy setup.Detach top piece from bottom piece (pull out lever thing at the back, separate the two pieces).Load the clean water reservoir from whatever your source is. We were lucky enough to have a pump at the campsite. It was ~100 yards from our spot.... a full container is pretty heavy - just FYI.Open the "I just pooped" slider lever at the left of the toilet and drop in some bio-friendly cleanser / tablet / whatever and add some clean water per the instructions.Reconnect top and bottom pieces of the toilet.Pump the flush lever a few times to moisten the chemicals - get them ready to do their thing.Close the "I just pumped" lever.Flush two or three times, just so that the first/next person isn't using a dry bowl (it helps to avoid /stuff/ sticking to the bowl).Optional but recommended: set up toilet tent.Toilet camp is now set up.We used septic-safe paper (which breaks down REALLY quickly!), because we thought it the best option for this toilet and the chemicals we were using.Granted this was a very short trip - one night, two people. But we still gave this thing the treatment we'd give our toilets at home (his 'n' hers at home - one toilet here). And it did GREAT.We didn't come even close to using all the clean water.Emptying. Rubber gloves might be a comfort to you, but the entire operation is pretty clean from start to finish.I separated the two pieces as described earlier. Emptied the unused clean water into the soil at campsite. Took the bottom part ("I just pooped" slider firmly closed!) to the bathhouse. NOTE: the chemicals we used can SAFELY be poured into a regular toilet. YMMV.It took probably six pour/flush operations to get the dirty tank as-close-to-empty as we're going to get without a hose / directional shower. NOTE: you might well need to close that "I just pooped" lever and, well, slush / swill the contents between pour / flush operations. It's a good upper body workout, it feels a little bit weird, but you're not gonna get ick on you unless you did it wrong. If you do have access to a hose then you can aid in the cleaning action of the swishing by adding water and maybe have this thing totally clean before you head home.Everything smelled like blue toilet chemicals (well, in our case, anyway, because that's what we used) - no nose-holding or retching, etc.Give the bowl a wipe with loo roll and that's basically it. Again - rubber gloves might make you feel better for this step, but if you're careful you should be fine.Oh, the tent... https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B073GSLZTVI read the reviews of many privacy tents here on Amazon and ended up choosing this one. It is PERFECT for our toilet. We added a cheap motion-detecting, USB-charged LED light in a mesh pocket so when you need to go you just unzip the door, walk in and the light comes on. The toilet's right there, the TP is waiting in another mesh pocket. Wash and sanitize your hands when you're done and get back to enjoying the outdoors. This might be an entirely too lengthy review but that's OK. We LOVE this toilet and it really has changed our camping lives. As in we didn't have a camping life UNTIL we had this toilet and I have waited to take my beautiful wife camping for SO MANY years. I'm just not sure either of us knew what was holding us back until BEHOLD THE TOILET IN THE WOODS WITH PRIVACY.She's happy. And that means I am, too.

Bought the larger premium model. Used for a family of 4 plus two additional adult guests, one male and one female. This toilet works exactly as it should, I'll start right there. You have to consider what it is and what it should be doing. It is not meant to replace a full time and full dooty (see what I did there, dooty-duty?) unit. It is meant for portability and temporary use. The water tank separates from the holding tank nicely once you figure out how it works (read the book). Tilting up from the back after pulling the handle gets you what you're looking for. Reverse the order for reinstallation. I think many are trying to do things the hard way and haven't found that finesse of separating it, I guess.Once you've filled the water tank, you do have to carry it flat since the fill cap has a vent hole which will slightly trickle water as you carry it back to camp from the fill site. Not a big deal once you figure that out. The plunger spray is the way. The little bulb sprays on other units are easier, yes, but the silicone bulb cover wears out pretty quick and you get leaks from cracks that develop, especially if you get fat-fingered folks pressing it like it's some kind of game buzzer. Yes, once in a while the plunger puts a few drops out as you pump it. So what? A little water on a toilet doesn't seem like a bad thing to me. If you're looking for perfection from a portable toilet, you might have higher expectations than can be delivered to you.The valve that releases the contents of the bowl to the holding tank is a bit stiff. I don't mind this. My 4 yr old can use the potty by himself and do his business just fine. However, I don't need him opening that valve so he can then forget it and my 7yr old comes along and breaks it off because he's overzealous. Also, it should securely stay put whether open or closed. If there's one thing I don't need is a valve getting uppity and thinking it can open or close on it's own accord, revealing the stench I'm trying to contain. The unit does not hold a ton. Nor do I think you should want it to hold a ton. You should have some sort of access to a real dump site or a toilet capable of handling the load. This is a convenience toilet, not a new way of life. Use it until it's a little over half way full (hard to gauge, yes) and then empty it. It will be easier to empty, nicer to work with and much more of a convenience to everyone. I let mine get full and then went to empty it. Oh boy was I in for a treat! The moment I opened the dump cap, I was greeted with demonic possessions exiting this thing like a ghostbusters trap. Then, oh yes, there's a then, when I tipped the tank to pour into the dump site (a real flush toilet, commercial style), there was a gush of liquids and solids that was forceful enough to splash a little from the bowl onto the toilet, requiring some after-dump cleanup. The following times I emptied a half-full tank and it was a good bit better experience. There needs to be a hose for this, it would help immensely at rv dump stations. I'm researching hoses and their fitment. This toilet is sized properly. It fits in a camping inventory nicely. It isn't designed for large people to be comfortable as they would at home. I'm 6'5" and 260lbs. I used it just fine. It was a pleasure to have in camp.Use the drop-ins, they work. The orange ones that come with it (about 6 of them, I think) were great. One per tank cycle. We had no odor issues outside of what I would expect for a portable tank full of human excrement. Yep, you'll smell it a little each time you open that valve to flush. If you don't care for that, you might consider just camping near toilets. It sits flat, so if you have uneven ground, it will be challenging.Get an enclosure. Mine is rain-proof and I like it. There are some with open roof construction, probably stays cooler there. Mine got warm. I'm looking into a shower with a roof that will double as the enclosure for this. All in all, it is a great addition to our camping gear. Convenience and sanitation are the highest driving factors. No more spider-ridden out houses or bee nested bath house toilets for us. No more will I have to endure the burrito-eating drunks that like to bless the public toilets across America's beauty lands with the aftermaths of their transgressions.
