I ordered these boots for general wear and am not as happy as I thought I would be with them. I'll sum it up by saying "combat" boots is definitely the correct description.I ordered my usual size, a women's 7.5, in these. The length is appropriate for that size but the width is quite narrow. The boots themselves are very thick and also rather stiff feeling so there isn't much flexibility to that at all, making them not very comfortable on.The comfort level, in general, is just not super ideal. These just feel rigid all the way up the shaft and feel rather restricting of movement. That said, I know some people prefer that for ankle support while hiking. I prefer a lot more flexibility, personally, so I don't care for the stiffness of the boots. Also, due to the stiffness, they take a bit of extra pull to properly lace them up each time you put them on or take them off.Quality-wise, these are well-made. They feel sturdy and durable. The tread is rugged enough to provide good grip for most outdoor applications. The color is a bit more of a reddish/rust brown than I was expecting.Overall, these are well-made boots. They have a narrow fit and a rigid shaft, so they aren't ideal for my needs but if that's your preference, these could be a great choice for you. They are definitely more of a rugged, work/outdoor style than something you'd wear to compliment an outfit, so keep that in mind when ordering.

I live in the Midwest and just recently a snowstorm dumped about 9 inches of snow on the ground, even though my area typically gets 3 at most. I had to go outside and dig my car out from the wall of snow that the snowplows pushed up against my car, and these boots saved my feet!Pros:Super warmVentilated enough that my feet didn't get dampCompletely waterproofTall enough to tuck my pants inStrongly lacedGood tractionCan withstand kicking ice out of the way without hurting my footCons:Pretty stiff for the first wear, my ankles hurt a bit but I am sure I will break them inOverall, favorite pair of snow boots I have ever worn. Highly recommend!

I was excited to get these boots. In the listing, the "Brown" color looks more of a camel or toffee color but that was ok with me. I was surprised to open the box and see that they are much more Orange than brown. Huge disappointment. The style is cute and rugged but that color ruined them for me.As for the fit, I wear an 8.5 so I ordered an 8.5. I wore these with thicker socks but not heavy winter socks. Even with the thicker socks, they fit well. They fit well in the toe area, however they were a little bit snug but not uncomfortable. I believe they will loosen up with more wear.I thought the useless buckle straps were ugly so I removed them. They serve no functional purpose and were easy to just take off.The height went to about the middle of my shin so they will be nice in some snow. I wore them in the rain and my feel remained dry.They did rub my skin on the heels (but that's common with almost all new boots I get) so I'll have to wait until that area heals before I wear them again.Overall, very happy with these. Just go for the Black color unless you're a fan of orange/"brown".

These are nice looking boots for general wear, hiking and working on the farm. They are not winter boots, so if you intend to use them for that you will need to wear thick socks and order a size accordingly. They lace up and have a buckle strap around the top which seems to be a increasingly popular style. They seem sturdy and well made. I bought my usual size of 7 1/2 and they fit fine even with a thickish pair of cold weather socks. They are adequately cushioned and while stiff, that is to be expected. They will loosen up with time. My only issue so far has been that the top of the boot rubs against my leg every time I take a step. It's only the right boot. The left is fine. I'm not sure what the problem is but loosening the laces and buckle a little don't help. So I can only wear them for a fairly short period of time, depending on how much I walk in them. I'm hoping over time whatever the problem is the boot will correct itself or maybe my leg will just get used to it. I don't think this is something to be expected from this boot in general. I may have just gotten one that was cut or stitched slightly off. But this is a nice boot and the price of $59 seems about right.
