These snake gaiters are excellent and provide a ton of protection for the lower legs and tops of the feet when walking in grass where you can't be sure whether there's a snake lurking. They're thick and sturdy and the straps allow for attaching to your calves securely. They also protect from thorns and brambles and I've been scratched enough by those, so I'm pleased to be able to walk with more confidence and feeling of safety that I won't be harmed by the vegetation or snakes living in it.

This is a pair of snake gaiters, to wear over your pants and preferably steel toed boots. I took some pictures of the packaging it arrives in, and it does come with a bag tye case to store them in when not in use. Also, took a picture of them on, but didn't buckle all the way up. These do foot a thick calve as I have , and they velcro shut, as well as my buckle up for a good fit. This will provide you with immense protection from accidental snake bite while out hunting or traveling in snake prone areas. From personal experience, I have seen numerous types of venomous snakes stand their ground or lay inactive when approaching, especially Copperheads, they can be very aggressive when young to juvenile. I have encountered Coral snakes and though venomous, they have every time time shown docile, I even stepped on one while mowing and it did not strike. Now it's look alike the Scarlet King snake has often opened its mouth and then fled. Usually though the snakes in my area that are non-venomous types, flee. These snake gaiters will give me more confidence while clearing brush or exploring our property. I highly recommend!

I definitely have larger-than-average legs, but these gaiters still fit over my pants — which is a big plus! I own another pair that come up over my thighs, and while those work great on some rural property I own, they’re a bit too bulky when I just need quick protection for my overgrown suburban backyard, where I spend more time.I live near a lake and have seen plenty of copperheads in and around my yard. I actually welcome them on my property, but I still want to protect myself in case I accidentally get closer to one than I mean to. These gaiters do a great job balancing protection, comfort, and ease of use.The material feels very durable, and I’m confident no local snake (here in the Southern U.S.) is getting through them. They attach quickly with both straps and Velcro, and they provide solid coverage over my calves, ankles, and the tops of my boots. When I need to do a little yard work near the lake, these give me real peace of mind — and since they’re so easy to throw on, I’m much more likely to actually wear them.Bonus: they also protect your calves from any thorny underbrush! They fit great, feel like a quality product, and were an excellent value. Highly recommended!

I am a 5’7” woman. These fit right to beneath my kneecap. These are blocky and slide around on my leg a bit, while walking. Maybe after I’ve worn them a few times, I’ll get them fit better. You Velcro them on and then adjust the straps to fit your legs. I have no doubt that my lower legs would be protected from snake bite. The gaiters are light in weight but thick. I have a lot of snakes on the property and last year when I had a lot of downed trees to cut up and move…. Snakes were a real concern. I can’t report on if these are comfortable all day or if they make you feel too hot… the weather here is cool and I haven’t been working in the woods much. I do feel these will be a very useful tool this summer as I’ve already seen numerous snakes this spring!

This is the first time I've gotten snake gaitors so I'm not really sure how they're usually designed? I want to get back into hiking and I live in Arizona so we have all kinds of rattlesnakes. They camouflage extremely well. I just thought these might be some nice added protection even though I've never gotten bitten or even struck at as far as I know before. Although our local spicy noodles won't necessarily kill you they'll definitely do some damage and I have some health issues that might put me at increased risk. So these strap kind of awkwardly on the sides. I had some difficulty getting the straps just right so that they stayed on my calf and didn't sag. They're a little bit big I think but I guess that would change if I was wearing pants so it was a little bulkier (and I have large calves). The inserts inside of these feel like cardboard and not very thick cardboard I might add. The only way to really review these is to get bitten by a snake and see what happens so I'm not sure that I can really speak to the quality. If you were walking through the bushes of Africa with gaboon vipers who have the largest fangs in the world I would say yeah these aren't going to work. But they're better than nothing so I think it's worth it.

I hope to never test their ability to stop a snake bite, however, they feel stout and likely up to the job. I've worn them for a little while and they're reasonably comfortable to have on. It's nice peace of mind when working in "snakey" areas to have something like this one. I'll likely coat them in some Permethrin to keep ticks off as well. The material, rigidness, and connections feel strong and not cheap. I'm happy with the product.

This may be overkill, but I wear these over my rubber boots so I can wear shorts to mow the lawn. Living in the south with vision that is deteriorating, I worry so much about stepping on a snake as they are all over my neighborhood and like to hang out in the bushes between property lines. I threw them on today for a quick mow and they were easy to adjust. For reference, I'm a ladies size 8 and 5'2" tall. I'm not gonna lie...they were hot and a little heavy, but they remind me a lot of the shin guards I used to wear playing sports. I will deal with it to avoid a trip to the ER. They are very well made and while I hope I never find out, I do believe they will block a snake bit.
