Simple and it works but I can’t for the life of me figure out why it is at an angle, transoms are typically thicker than the clamping space provided, so over the gunnel it goes. The angle just seems silly

I used these to mount Scotty Downriggers to my Pontoon Boat. The brackets have square mounts that fit the rails on a pontoon boat. I used strips of metal on the sides of the Cannon mount to connect the Scotty Downrigger mount to it.

I bought this to put on my cannon lake troller base and it’s way shallow for the transom on my aluminum row boat. I bought the Scotty 1021 portable clamp bracket and it’s much better. 2 screws instead of 1 and it sits deeper on the gunnel, it’s solid. The bolts line up with the cannon base as well.

Product description says 2" opening. Clamp doesn't open 2". Boat was in storage by the time I tried clamp and realized it didn't fit the seller says I can't return item that falsely claims that the clamp opening is 2". Very disappointed that the seller won't except return on item that doesn't do what they said it does 0.0 Stars for Seller.

There was no way this was going to stay on my aluminum boat. Little bit of pressure and it was falling off. Not going to trust if with my few hundred dollar down rigger. I ended up making my own mount out of wood on the metal bench seat of the boat instead of the rail. But if you can get this to mount good on your boat i am sure it is a good product. It just didn't work with my type of boat.

Works well on my Lund but won’t fit some others. The jaw width is only 1 & 3/4 inches wide. Be careful, also I haven’t caught a fish yet, I wonder if my wire is making too much noise there is a lot of wire vibration now,

Item as described. Works fine on flat or 90 degree service, e.g., transom. However, on an aluminum boat with narrow or uneven gunwale, you may need to use wood blocks to even/adjust the mount so the downrigger boom fits correctly.
