The Tournament Kokanee Series

This series displays visibly and catches huge amounts of fish every year, on lakes where kokanee & trout are found. Anglers fishing from a boat are often the most productive numbers-wise on lakes. Watching a takedown on a light action trolling rod is an exciting experience. Kokanee & trout are notorious for having “soft mouths”. Combine that with the way Kokanee & trout thrash around when hooked and you have a recipe for fish that have the ability to spit the hook easily. The right rods must be limber enough to give to the thrash of the fish and not pull back too hard against the lip with the hook. They also must load into a down-rigger if using one.

The X-11 Ultralight Series

These models perform, while the feel in hand is highly pleasing to the angler. The actions on the 6’ and 6’6” models are a little faster than the average trout rod, which allow for quick, hook-pinning reactions. The bend throughout the rod keeps these fish hooked while protecting the light leaders necessary to lure fish. The 7’0” models are slightly more moderate, ideal for trout and kokanee trolling or bait fishing. These rods are simply ultra-fun to fish.

Came broken, and Lamiglas wont honor the warranty because it's not from their website. My question was then why they sell it on 3rd party sites? Also, Amazon wouldn't let me just exchange the poll. I have to send it back then wait for the money in probably a week so I can just repurchase it. very poor customer service.

This rod has a very light, soft action. That's what I wanted. unfortunately, it came with the tip broken off and it wasn't in the box. Since adding a tip is easy, I cut it back about 4" and put a new tip on. The piece I cut off had a very small diameter so I can see how it might have broken. With the shorter length and new tip, it has a little stiffer action, which is good for my application (trolling for trout up to about 3#

This rod is absolutely perfect for downrigger kokanee trolling. Don't let the light action (4-10lb) fool you as there is plenty of backbone to this rod once you get past the whippy top section. The light action tip provides plenty of cushion for the soft mouth of the kokanee. I now have two of these and couldn't be happier. By the way, the Amazon price with Prime shipping can't be beat.

This is a great rod for Kokanee and I really like it while it lasted but I have had two break on me. One was broken when they shipped it and the other the tip broke off in the back of my truck. So it is my fault but none of my other rods have ever broke in my truck. Great, very sensitive rod but very fragile. I'll probably end up getting another one.

When I received the rod the tip was broken off. The packaging seemed to be fine and the broken tip was not inside. The rod must have been broken when it was packaged. Not worth the hassle of returning it. I'll get a tip eye and repair it. The rest of the rod appears to be OK.

I have only used this rod for flat-line trolling, and so far the results have been exceptional. It is the perfect length, and it is very flexible, with enough spine to be able to hook the fish. it's beautiful, and the finish and cork are excellent. For this price, it is very difficult to find another rod at this exceptional quality.

These rods are exactly what we're looking for fishing Kokanee. They're light weight, flexible, yet strong enough to reel in the fish. We're going to invest in two more of these rods when they become available at the price we are looking for. Would highly recommend to anyone for Kokanee fishing.
