AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I’m a small business owner (just me in office) and all I need is a simple black and white laser printer. In the ads, this one ticked all the boxes. However, it has been temperamental and finnicky since day one. Yesterday, it died completely. When printing, it prints a line of computer gibberish at the top of each page and seems to run forever. Each time you print, you must manually select the paper source. A one-page letter printed on over 70 pages, each with one line of gibberish at the top. I tried to call Canon, I was even willing to pay for support. After an hour on hold, their support line hung up on me. I tried uninstalling the printer software and reinstalling the drivers. I upgraded the drivers from the Canon website. That did nothing, except possibly making the problem worse. It got one star because it worked OK for about six months, but it has been terrible since. Yesterday, after it quit working completely, I disconnected it and it is heading for recycling. I will never buy another Canon product again. Poorly performing products that do not last even the expected three years and no support. Choose any other product. You'll be glad you did.

Wife needed "just a printer" to replace HP printer that failed. This one was priced right and, most importantly, isn't by HP. Annoying to get properly set up because there are a whole bunch of drivers but no explanation what they are for. Initial PC setup from CD failed and no instructions to recover. Finally found that I could uninstall whatever had been installed using the normal Windows process. Once I found that, finally got installed but have multiple versions of printer. Been installing printers since the original Laserwriter. This is the first time I've encountered a non-obvious install process and really useless instructions. But...it's a good printer and works just fine.

This is a really great printer. Toner is expensive but I feel it’s worth it because of its high print capacity. Not too big in size. Fits well on my desk at home. Love it.

After the mistake of buying a competing brand’s laser printer and having constant issues, the Canon was a breath of fresh air. I am so happy and impressed with this printer. It’s ideal for a home office or small business that needs reliability and a variety of features in a small footprint.

The print quality is very good. Very easy to use and setup. Replacement toner is less expensive than other brands.

After trying several other B&W printers, this one was very easy to set up. Literally took it out of the box, plugged it in, followed the easy set up instructions and all of my devices were connected to the wifi printer in minutes. Print quality is excellent, speed and not noisy. Lots of control options as well. Definitely recommend!

What a great printer! Boots up quickly. Easy to setup. No nonsense touch screens. Very fast printing. What more can you ask for?If you want a low cost purchase and low running cost printer for day to day black/white printer outs, this is it.I would have recommended the HP 4001dw but it’s ridiculously priced. You would have to get the 4001dwe which is an online only printer (requires active internet connection) and it’s still more expensive than this! (Based on the $299.99 sale price)

HP hasn't been the same since the Carly Fiorina era - HP printers are now total junk, except for the very high end models. I needed something for my home office that had a small footprint and this did the job nicely . I considered getting a HP but this cannon should not be underestimated. It just works - the only complaint if I had one is printing take just a little longer.

I’m a homeschooler and all I have ever wanted was a simple black and white printer without the nonsense of all the color cartridges and magenta running out so the entire printer stops working. I used to have a Canon printer and what a pain in the neck it was aside from the 764628 printer cartridges, it often just felt like not working at all. Printing something out gave me anxiety because of that awful printer. This one is glorious and the wireless works perfectly. I didn’t even have to upload the software onto my computer! Just plug, connect, and print the dang job. It works with my iPhone as well. AMEN!

First page out was comparable to Brother printers, but the quality of these printers is just head and shoulders above Brother, so they are my preferred printer. The slower warm up means the initial energy pull is not as high as Brother, so it won't pop circuit breakers as readily.Note that Canon all-in-ones have particularly bad scanners compered to Brother, so when Brother quality went down the drain, we had to start buying these printer-only printers and separate scanners. We tried a Canon all in one and it was terrible.

Unable (as yet) to print anything!! There are way too many steps involved in set-up. Comes with CD-DVD. Instruction manual requires a level of terminology that I believe is too advanced for the average computer user to understand.
